Celebrate Spring!
by Jenny Griffiths

Hello Crafty Friends,

Who wouldn't be feeling happy with this bright and cheery card?  It could be to celebrate Easter, a birthday or a special accomplishment.  The Drifting Butterfly Frame die lends itself to interesting backgrounds--today it's watercolored.  In looking back on my previous cards I noticed that I gravitate towards these colors so, bear with me as I share this card today with "jelly bean" colors.

 Spring Celebrate

Onto a panel of watercolor paper I loosely painted color into the 4 corners then misted the paper to allow the colors to come together and blend on the edges to create additional colors.  Wherever they needed a "push" I nudged the color with a paintbrush then dried the paper with a heat gun (I just can't wait for the air dry technique).

The Butterfly frame measures 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"--perfect for an A2 card.  I layered the frame and the watercolored panel onto an inverted notecard with the color showing inside.

From the Celebrate Circle Frame die, I carefully snipped the word free from the frame and used it alone in the card center.

The "Oh happy day!" sentiment is from the "Into the Woods" (CL403) clear set from Poppy Stamps.  I selected the words from a few existing phrases, cut them apart and reassembled to create this sentiment.  I'm careful to keep the small words together once they have been cut apart so I can use the original phrase again.  Once stamped and heat embossed in white on black scrap paper, I cut a little "fish tail" on one end and adhered it onto the card.

The jelly bean props?  I don't know where they went after the photos were taken...wink.
