Hello, hello Memory Box friends....Penny here today with a little Easter goodness. With just a little watercolor and a gorgeous die cut, you will have a bright and fun card in about 10 minutes (no fair including drying time).
Flick Liquid Frisket across you watercolor paper and let dry. I have used Peerless watercolors on my card (because let's face it, they are super bright), but any watercolor will do.
Die cut the Grantham Egg. Add irRESISTible Pico Wedding Dress to the "egg". Sprinkle the wet medium with Crystal glitter. Add Pico Neon Yellow to the "foliage" and Neon Pink and Purple Picos to the "flowers". Let dry.
Remove the Frisket, drop in some irRESISTible Neon Yellow. Adhere the Grantham Egg and add a sentiment with foam adhesive.
Pretty Easy Peasy Mr. Sneezy!

Today I wanted to do a clean and simple card using one of the latest stamp/die sets from Memory Box. I didn't want to add a lot of layers or embellishments, but the scale of the stamps I was using was rather small. Therefore, I decided to use one corner of the card and leave the rest of the card white.
To make the card, I masked the right side and bottom of the card with strips of masking paper:
I then sponged the card with Mowed Lawn and Tumbled Glass Distress ink . I made sure to add the ink at the bottom right hand side so that the ink would be darker there and then sponged the color away from the corner till it faded to white. I removed the masks and was left with clean, crisp lines.
I die cut the bunny, tulips and two clouds from my set and colored them with Copic markers.
Bunny- E50, E53, E55
Umbrella/Jacket- Y13, Y15
Clouds- C1, BG000
Tulips- YG03, RV02
Here is a close up of the bunny and other elements:
Happy Friday, everyone! Oh my gosh, the holidays are flying by and Easter is coming soon! My card today is a little different as Easter cards go. It was a "delight" to make, but then I always have fun making cards! Here we go ...
I started with a black card base, and cut a piece of white card stock to 5.5" x 3.75". I sponged my favorite green ink, Peeled Paint Distress Ink, through the Distressed Grid stencil onto the white piece, keeping it light and sporadic. I then adhered this to the base, leaving a slightly wider margin on the left.
I die cut the largest egg from the Half a Dozen Eggs set from black card stock. I die cut two of the Tanglewood Frame dies from white card stock. On one of the die cuts, I again used the largest egg die to cut the egg shape from the background, making sure to include the flower. I lightly sponged Shabby Shutters Distress Ink over all but the flower. On the flower, I sponged Squeezed Lemonade and shaded with Dried Marigold. I then lined up and adhered the Tanglewood egg shape to the black egg. From the other Tanglewood background die cut, I snipped out the leaves and sprigs, sponging over these pieces with Peeled Paint ink. I also snipped out the flower and sponged on the same colors as the first one.
I adhered the snipped flower over the corresponding one, turning it slightly, and added some yellow Prills to the center. I next adhered the snipped leaves over the corresponding leaves on the egg. I used foam tape to adhere the assembled egg onto the card front. I applied glue to the bottom edges of the other three sprigs and tucked them behind the egg as shown. For the sentiment, I used washi tape to cover everything on the stamp but the word Delight, inked it with Versafine Black ink, removed the tape and stamped where shown.
I'm going to experiment with cutting other shapes from the Tanglewood Frame background! It's such a versatile die and so delicate. I hope you'll give it a try too! Thanks for stopping by, and have a great weekend!
Dreamy watercolors, the New Butterfly Wreath and glitter...maybe spring and summer are on their way! Jean Okimoto here with another wishing-for-some sunshine card. It's a beautiful here in Seattle right now - that's inspired me to create another butterfly design, and hope it'll be sunny for a while.
View the Butterfly Wreath - and more great dies here.
Starting off as we did for the previous card...
Spritz a light layer of water onto watercolor paper. Keeping the colors separate - completely ink a 4" soft rubber brayer with Kaleidacolor Riviera and spritz it with more water - then roll the diluted inks onto the watercolor paper. Let the colors mix and mingle for a while, then dry the inks with a heat-tool.
Diecut it with Butterfly Wreath - but don't remove the paper from the die. Cover a 4" square of white cardstock with Scor-Tape. Cut it with the 3.2" and 1.2" Stitched Circle Layers - it'll look like a white doughnut. The stitching won't appear on the finished card, but those dimensions worked for this design.
Press the diecut (still in the die) onto the adhesive-covered circle. Use a piercing tool to push the diecut out and onto the adhesive circle. Carefully remove the die. Brush iridescent glitter onto the exposed adhesive. Sparkle Glitter from Impress is perfect for this.
Now it gets obsessive here. Add dimension to the wreath by carefully lifting the outer edges of the delicate wing outlines. Lift alternating "inside" wings too. Brush more glitter under the raised wings, and along the outer edges under the wing outlines. The additional application of glitter covers the adhesive there - and keeps the outlines and alternating wings from sticking to the background.
Attach Scor-Tape behind gold mirror cardstock and diecut the antennae and attach them to alternating butterflies. They're on a removable section of the die and will cut 6 antennae at once.
Stamp Kindness of People on pale green cardstock with Radiant Neon Electric Blue and emboss it with detail clear powder. Diecut it with the 2" Stitched Square Layer.
Attach everything to a 4-⅝" x 6-¼" card of white cardstock. Attach pale gold sequins.
Thanks a bunch for stopping by - hope you love Memory Box butterflies as much as I do! Join us again tomorrow for another beautiful design from Sherry Hester.
Will spring arrive quickly if the new Marielle Butterflies and Butterfly Ensemble make a surprise appearance in mid-winter? I hope so! Hi - Jean Okimoto here - do we really need a reason to use these beautiful dies in the middle of February?
The January 2016 Collection is filled with great new butterfly designs - view them here, along with classic favorites from previous releases.
Lightly spritz watercolor paper with water. Keep the individual colors separated - then ink a 4" soft rubber brayer with Riviera Kaleidacolor. Spritz the brayer with water and quickly roll the inks onto the watercolor paper. Allow the inks to blend for a few minutes, then dry them with a heat-tool. Cut it with the 2.5" x 3.5" Pinpoint Rectangle Layer.
Shake a bottle of Gold Shimmer Spritz, then remove the sprayer. Tap the plastic tube to release shimmery droplets of gold ink over the watercolored background. Set it aside to dry.
Cut Marielle Butterflies from watercolor paper. Cut the individual Butterfly Ensemble butterflies from turquoise, yellow and purple vellum. Attach the vellum butterflies - slightly offset - behind the Marielle Butterflies diecut.
Cut, score and fold a 5.5" square card of textured white cardstock. Cut Straight Stitches near the left and bottom edges. Assemble the card and attach chartreuse sequins.
Big thanks to everyone in the Birthday Wishes class at Impress - hope you enjoyed the class! See you again on February 21st for our Springtime Greetings class - we'll make 5 cards and a sweet little candy carrier for Easter treats.
Thanks for visiting...hope these bright colors added a bit of warmth and sunshine to a cold winter day.
I have a couple of cards to share with you today, that uses the fun Stitched Celebrate Circle Frame. I chose to use the die in a clean and simple way for both a masculine, and feminine card.
I started by thoroughly wetting my watercolor panel with clean water, and dropped in my colors. I allowed them to pool, and meld, before leaving it to air dry.
Once it was dry, I adhered the panel to a white card base, and die cut the Stitched Celebrate Circle frame with white card stock. I adhered it to the panel, along with a few black hearts, but from the Flicker Heart die. I added some shine to those hearts, and moved on to a masculine look.
Again, I took a panel of watercolor paper, and wet it liberally with clean water, and as before, dropped in different greens, and a blue. After it dried, I trimmed it down and adhered it onto a landscape card front. I added the Stitched Celebrate Circle Frame, along with the stars that come with it, die cut out of black card stock.
I added some shine to those as well! Here is a look at the two of them together. As you can see, with just a different color scheme, you get two totally different cards!
I hope that you are inspired to use the same die in a masculine/feminine way today! Thank you so much for joining me!
Happy 21st Anniversary to Simple Pleasures Stamps and Scrapbooking! It is an amazing store and also a testament to the owner of how well she has adapted to the ever changing environment of the crafting industry and continues to provide awesome customer services as well as the latest and great products. Dave has been so kind as to design another exclusive stamp set and die set available only from Simple Pleasures Stamps and Scrapbooking for this coming weekend's anniversary celebration.
The stamped image is a Poppy and the sentiment coordinates just perfectly. On the end of the sentiment is the single poppy petal. To create this card, I used frisket to mask the image and then did a wet to wet technique using color burst crystals.

And below is a video showing the gorgeous stamps in action!
My dad is celebrating a special birthday this week--he'll be 93 years old! Mom and I are very fortunate that he is in good health and quite active. He keeps busy with household chores and one project or another all the time.
Here is the front of the card I made for Dad:
I used a Memory Box Kraft notecard and some gold metallic paper, die cutting STARLIT BREEZE no. 99398 into the front of the notecard and backing it with a piece of the gold metallic paper adhered inside the card. I added the STITCHED CELEBRATE CIRCLE FRAME no. 99320 and popped on the two stars that cut with the die.
I couldn't have just a plain inside, so I reached for additional dies:
I die cut the STITCHED HAPPY BIRTHDAY RECTANGLE no. 99379 from more of the gold metallic paper and backed it with black cardstock. I then cut the FANCY MUSIC BORDER no. 99408 from black cardstock and placed in the center at the top of the card. That leaves me plenty of room to write a special message on the right.
I hope you'll think about adding die cuts to the inside of the cards you make...and on the envelopes too! For example, I'll cut more of the gold stars and add them to a Kraft envelope.
Hi Memory Box fans....Penny here today. How stinkin' cute are the bunnies from the Birthday Bunnies set?!? Needed a little boys birthday card and this worked perfectly.
Let's Make a Card:
I started with a pale blue card base and added half of a paper doily along the edge, as well as a strip of darker blue card stock.
Bunnie and balloons were stamped and die cut then colored with Copic markers. Balloons have been coated with Glossy Accents for that wonderful shine.
Paintbrush Happy was die cut 3 times, stacked and adhered together. I stamped and heat embossed the word "birthday" from the Birthday Bunnies set, trimmed and added to card front.
The bunnies are so cute to use for birthdays, Easter, baby cards...Ok, you get the idea.
Save the little pieces from the delicate Fragile Heart - leave them in the die and up-cycle them for a sparkly last-minute Valentine. Hi, Jean Okimoto here, with a confession today. I didn't realize how much I liked pink until Laura announced the Tickled Pink theme for this month's challenge.
Peachy pinks, blush pinks, sweet pinks, bluish pinks...there are so many shades to chose from. Combine that with the great collection of heart dies designed by Dave Brethauer - and I could continue making Valentine cards thru February 29th!
Here's a design that uses the leftovers from diecutting the Fragile Heart from watercolor paper. Keep the pieces in the die. Attach Scor-Tape to pink cardstock and diecut the Stitched Heart Layer. Press the pieces (still in the die) onto the adhesive-covered heart. If any of the pieces refuse to budge, push them out with a piercing tool - or a pokey tool, as we affectionately call it in classes at Impress.
Remove the "empty" die, then brush Martha Stewart Crafts Bubble Gum Glitter onto the remaining exposed adhesive.
Diecut the 3" x 4" Stitched Rectangle Layer from watercolor paper. Paint it with Peerless Watercolors and let it dry. Highlight sections of it with a sheer, diluted layer of Silver Peerless Transparent Metallics.
Stamp "LOVE" - from the Open Studio Smile Clear Stamps Set - on the smoother side of textured gray cardstock with Brilliance Starlight Black. Dry the ink, then cut it with the smallest Stitched Rectangle Layer.
Tuck the upper right corner of the cardstock into the corner of the die to keep it from slipping, then secure it with removable tape and trim the excess cardstock on the left.
Attach everything to a side-folded A-2 card of textured gray cardstock - use foam dots for the heart. Attach charcoal and clear iridescent sequins. Here's a closeup - it's even glittery-er in real-life!
Have a day off on Presidents Day? Join us for the Birthday Wishes class at Impress and make 6 special cards - 3 for gals and 3 for guys. Lots of techniques, glitter, sequins and accents from my stash - and a packet of stash-extras so you can make more of the class cards at home.
Thanks for stopping by - Happy Valentine's Day to you from everyone at Memory Box!
