A Very Special Birthday
by Anne Thompson

My dad is celebrating a special birthday this week--he'll be 93 years old!  Mom and I are very fortunate that he is in good health and quite active.   He keeps busy with household chores and one project or another all the time.

Here is the front of the card I made for Dad:

I used a Memory Box Kraft notecard and some gold metallic paper, die cutting STARLIT BREEZE no. 99398 into the front of the notecard and backing it with a piece of the gold metallic paper  adhered inside the card.  I added the STITCHED CELEBRATE CIRCLE FRAME no. 99320 and popped on the two stars that cut with the die.

I couldn't have just a plain inside, so I reached for additional dies:

I die cut the STITCHED HAPPY BIRTHDAY RECTANGLE no. 99379 from more of the gold metallic paper and backed it with black cardstock.  I then cut the FANCY MUSIC BORDER no. 99408 from black cardstock and placed in the center at the top of the card.  That leaves me plenty of room to write a special message on the right.

I hope you'll think about adding die cuts to the inside of the cards you make...and on the envelopes too!  For example, I'll cut more of the gold stars and add them to a Kraft envelope.

Happy Crafting!

Very pretty and how nice your Dad will be 93. Sounds like a party!!! I, too, like to add to my envelopes...sometimes stamping, but if a hand delivered card, die cuts or embossing.

Very cute, Anne. Dad will love it. What a guy!
