Ready for the next three months of our Memory Box and Open Studio watercolored calendar? Hi, Jean Okimoto here - hope these warm summer colors will help brighten this wintery day!
Cut three more Pinpoint Rectangle Layers from watercolor paper. Paint one of them with blue and turquoise Peerless Watercolors. Cut Breezy Waves and the smallest Stitched Star Layer from red cardstock. Stamp Articles Ledger on a scrap of watercolor paper with Majestic Blue VersaFine. Dry the ink and cut another small star. Attach large light blue sequins.
Cut Blooming Lotus Background from watercolor paper. Paint it with Peerless Watercolors. Cut Blooming Lotus Outline from orange cardstock. Using the outline diecut as a guide, lightly mark the oval center of the background diecut with a pencil. Paint the center yellow. Dry the ink, then cover the center with glue and sprinkle it with Martha Stewart Crafts Lemon Drop Glitter. Assemble the lotus and trim the left edge. Attach it to the background, add the calendar and green and gold sequins.
Create a back to school theme with some geometry and alphabets for September. Cut the approximately 3" Open Studio Octagon Layer from watercolor paper and paint it with Peerless Watercolors. Dry it and stamp it with Open Studio Pensive Alphabet and Spanish Olive VersaFine. Dry the ink, then cut it with five of the smaller Octagon Layers. Lightly ink the outer edges of each section with Spanish Olive and reassemble the octagon. Place a strip of Scor-Tape behind green cardstock and cut the first five letters of Alphabet Soup. Attach everything to the background and add copper sequins
Thanks for visiting - hope you'll stop by again this evening for the October, November and December designs as we complete our watercolored calendar!
