Fairhaven Oval Frame
by Donna Sledzik

Good morning everyone!

Donna here this morning with a card featuring the new "Fairhaven Oval Frame" die.

FullSizeRender (62)

This die cut is so delicate I thought it was a perfect fit over a water-colored background. I used watercolor paper for all my card layers and die cuts.  Die cut an oval to fit behind the Fairhaven Oval Frame.  I used Broken China, Tumbled Glass and  Shabby Shutters Distress Ink pads to watercolor the background.  Sponge Tumbled Glass distress ink  around the edge of the Stitched Oval die cut and the Grosgrain Ribbons die cuts.  Spatter the card background with gold ink.  The sentiment was stamped with Versa Ink and embossed with gold embossing powder.  The bird was die cut from a piece of cardstock which was embossed with gold embossing powder before die cutting.

Flicker Hearts and Stitched Oval Layers
by Jean Okimoto

MemoryBoxFlickerHearts-MemoryBoxBrandNewBicycle-OpenStudioStitchedOvalLayers-JeanOkimoto-Brilliance
The new Flicker Hearts and Stitched Oval Layers are a great combination - just add the classic Brand New Bicycle for a quick Valentine card.  Hello again, Jean Okimoto here with another version of something old/something new.  Isn't it cool how the  Flicker Hearts seem to be drifting out of the bicycle basket?

MemoryBoxFlickerHearts-MemoryBoxBrandNewBicycle-OpenStudioStitchedOvalLayers-OpenStudioSmileClearStamps-JeanOkimoto-BrillianceInkpad

Cut the second-largest Stitched Oval Layer  from textured white cardstock.  Cut a portion of Flicker Hearts from the oval.  Cut the hearts again from red glittered craft foam.  Attach  tape behind the oval and  pop the glittered hearts into place.

Stamp " LOVE"  from the Open Studio Smile Clear Stamps set with Brilliance Starlite Black.  It's the perfect shimmery black for a Valentine!   Attach everything to a 4-⅝" x 6-¼" card of gray cardstock.

Diecut Brand New Bike and the basket from dark gray pearlescent cardstock.  Add dark grey sequins.

MemoryBoxFlickerHearts-OpenStudioStitchedOvalLayers-MemoryBoxBrandNewBicycle-JeanOkimoto-ImagineCrafts

Wasn't that easy?  Try the same design in different colors - maybe some pink, fuchsia or coral hearts - and add a perfect greeting from one of the Open Studio Clear Stamp Sets.

Big thanks to everyone who took the first So Many Hearts class at Impress last weekend!  Hope you liked the cards...wasn't that the easiest origami heart?

Thanks for stopping by...hope you're enjoying the Design Team's Valentine posts and ideas.

Sketch Rose
by Shelby Thomas

Good Tuesday morning to everyone.  I hope your week has been going well.  I have a clean and simple card today, ok it's relatively clean and simple at least for me!

Sketchrose

I'm definitely  learning to enjoy more "white" cards with just a little pop of color.  The color was created with the Hero Arts Ombre pad (Navy to Pool).  The Sketch Rose and Butterfly Trio were all cut from white card stock.  To make sure everything coordinates...make sure to use the same white cardstock.  It's amazing how many different shades of white exist!

Sketchrose2

The sentiment was also stamped in the ombre ink pad and that particular stamp is from last year's exclusive for my LSS Simple Pleasures.  I can't wait to see what is in store for this year's exclusive set!!

This is the second card created with the exact same design except put the cut pieces back in.

Thanks for stopping by for a visit today.

Small Billow Flowers
by Anne Thompson

When I get a new Memory Box die that I know I will want to use again and again, I have a die cutting session and cut multiples of it in lots of different Memory Box dot papers and solid cardstock colors.  I did that with the SMALL BILLOW FLOWER 99368 and the SMALL BILLOW FLOWER BACKGROUND 99371.  Then I took SWIRLING STITCHES 99315  and cut it into the fronts of a number of Memory Box white notecards, placing it in different positions on each one.

Below is a SMALL BILLOW FLOWER anchored with a pop-dot on one of the STITCHED OVAL LAYERS 30069 placed in the upper right of a top-folded card:

I added a sentiment from the SPRINGTIME BUNNIES CLEAR STAMP SET CL5169 (stamped in Hero Arts Cornflower Blue ink).  Now I have the perfect card for any occasion!

And because I can never make just one card, here's another top-folded card:

Watercolor Heart Shaker
by Penny

Heart-shaker

Hey there Memory Box fans. Penny here today with one of my favorite cards to make...a Shaker card.  Using this new Elliana Heart die makes this card super easy to pull together. No fun foam to cut, no gazillion pieces of foam adhesive to use, just a matter of die cutting the heart several times.

Let's Make a Card:

Start with a piece of watercolor paper and start dabbing on some pretty pink paint. (I have used Peerless Watercolors on this card, but any watercolors will work). I tried to keep the paints in a heart shape, but as you know, watercolors have a mind of their own, so I just went with it.

Heart-shaker-sneak

Die cut the Elliana Heart about six times, stack and adhere together. Put White sequins and beads on the watercolor panel and Red beads and glitter just below. (As you can see the Elliana Heart has a natural divider in the die cut making it easy to keep your shaker filler separated). :)

Adhere the Elliana Heart over the shaker filler. Die cut a small Grosgrain Ribbon and the banner from the Flying High set. Stamp sentiment and adhere both to card front, trimming as necessary.

Heart-shaker-sneak2

Finish off card by adhering card front to a White base card.

Die cut  the middle section of the Rylan Butterfly Stem so you can use the medium size butterfly as an embellishment. Color as desired and adhere to card front.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Hope this gets your mojo going into a Valentines frame of mind. We would love to see what you are making with the new Memory Box dies on our Facebook page.

Devotion Heart and the Floral Breeze
by Jean Okimoto

MemoryBoxDevotionHeart-MemoryBoxFloralBreeze-MemoryBoxBloomingSketchBorder-OpenStudionStitchedHeartLayers-OpenStudioStitchedSquareLayers-JeanOkimoto-ImagineCrafts=ImpresCardsAndCrafts=PeerlessWatercolors

Let pretty hearts and flowers - like the new Devotion Heart and Floral Breeze - warm this chilly winter weekend.  Hi there, Jean Okimoto here, with a layered, collage-y design for you today.  It's been a while since I've watercolored the Blooming Sketch Border - here it is, delicately framed by the Devotion Heart and floating over the Floral Breeze background.

Cut a Stitched Heart Layer from watercolor paper and sponge it with Memento Angel Pink.  Stamp Sky Writing with Brilliance Pearlescent Thyme.  Dry the ink, then stamp Blooming Sketch Border with VersaMark.  Emboss it with detail white power.  Paint it with Peerless Watercolors.

Attach several strips of Scor-Tape behind a scrap of watercolor paper and cut Devotion Heart.  Layer it over the stamped heart.

MemoryBoxFloralBreeze-OpenStudioStitchedSquareLayers-JeanOkimoto

Cut Floral Breeze from pink cardstock.  Place the 4" Stitched Square Layer over it, secure it with removable tape, and cut the square.  Attach everything to a top-folded 5-½" square card of white cardstock.  Attach small iridescent sequins.

I love being combining something "old" with something new - even if the "old" was introduced just a few months ago.  Time flies so quickly now - Valentine's Day is less than a month away!

Hope you like today's design and the variations you can create using different sections of the beautiful Blooming Sketch Border.

Garden Easter Bunny
by Jenny Griffiths

Hello Crafty Friends,

Thank you for stopping by today.  Hope you're not too shocked to see an Easter card already but I just realized Easter is  only 10 days after St. Patrick's Day this year--yikes!  This little bunny was calling out to me so, here goes...

Garden Bunny JGriffiths

The word "Easter" was taken from the "Happy Easter Egg" die (see image of  die below).  I carefully cut "Easter" from the die cut and used it solo.  I have so many other plans for the same die using it intact though.

I added a pretty vellum bow to the bunny using the smallest bow in the "stitched bow" die set--it's just the right size.
Garden Bunny detail J Griffiths

The flowers (included with the Seraphine Laurel) were die cut in multiple colors, "cupped" and  layered for dimension.

Hope you like this card today--it's such a change from making all the Christmas cards in deep, bold colors---coming soon,  Springtime pastels!

 Happy Friday!Jennysig

Happy Birthday Shaker
by Lindsay

Hello!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I have a fun Happy Birthday shaker card to share with you, using some of the new Spring Release! Shaker cards can take a bit longer to make than a regular card, but make a great gift for someone special.

DSC_0016

I started by taking the Stitched Happy Birthday Rectangle, and cut if from white card stock. I then took a few Copic markers, and colored in the letters. I adhered a piece of acetate to the back, and a generous amount of foam tape, before sprinkling in a sequin mix. I then adhered another piece of acetate to hold all of the bits inside.

DSC_0017

I set the shaker piece aside, and using the Straight Stitches die, ran my card base through repeatedly, creating a patter on the left hand side. I then adhered the shaker box! Now, shake, shake, shake! So fun!

Thanks so much for joining me today! Have a great, and crafty day!

Homespun Hearts and Swirling Stitches
by Jean Okimoto

MemoryBoxHomespunHeart-MemoryBoxSwirlingStitches-OpenStudioStitchedRectangleLayers-OpenStudioSmileClearStamps-JeanOkimoto-PeerlessWatercolors-ImagineCrafts

Homespun Hearts and Swirling Stitches are a great pair for Valentine's Day.  Jean Okimoto here, loving these swirly freeform designs on a background  of Peerless Watercolors.  Swirling Stitches creates a great subtle backdrop for any design - I think of it as a 'quiet detail.'  The just-released January 2016 collection is much more than just a Valentine collection - check it out here.

Cut a 4" x 3" Stitched Rectangle Layer from watercolor paper.  Brush a layer of water onto the paper, then paint it with Peerless Watercolors.  Dry it with a dry iron on the cotton setting.

MemoryBoxHomespunHearts-MemoryBoxSwirlingStitches-OpenStudioStitchedRectangleLayers-OpenStudioSmileClearStamps-JeanOkimoto-PeerlessWatercolors-ImagineCrafts

Cut Homespun Heart from light pink glittered cardstock.  Cut the watercolor paper with Swirling Stitches.  Stamp "LOVE" - from the Open Studio Smile Clear Stamp Set - on the smoother side of watercolor paper with Brilliance Pearlescent Coral.  Dry the ink - then cut the greeting with the smallest Stitched Rectangle Layer.  Trim the excess paper using the inner edge of a larger Stitched Rectangle.

Attach everything to a Peony Notecard.  Attach small silver sequins.
