Foil Butterfly Frame
by Shelby Thomas

Good morning everyone!  Isn't the new release full of gorgeousness?  Today's card is showing off another die from the new release called Hovering Butterfly Frame.

I was playing around with the MINC and trying out different color combinations and seeing if I liked foiling the entire paper first and then die cutting or visa versa.  In short, for me it didn't make a difference in the outcome of the final card, but of course everything comes down what works best you!  I used Distress Stains (Tumbled Glass and Milled Lavender) for a softly colored background.  This die is a meant to cover a full A2 card front.  I did trim the background paper about 1/16" on each side which worked perfectly.

I popped up the small butterfly wings so the sentiment could be fully seen by the recipient since it was just a wee bit too wide.  Check out the embossing portion of this die.  I added a metal shim and then a thinner card stock shim to cut and emboss at the same time.  And for those who are local to Colorado Springs, we will be making a version of this card in the Feb. 6 Springtime and Butterflies class at Simple Pleasures.

Thanks for stopping by for a visit today!

Beautiful card...and lovely sentiment.

beautiful card...thanks for sharing.

Great card and I love the die and sentiment...so pretty.

Gorgeous card, love the new dies!

Just beautiful, Shelby! Great combination of stamp and die with those colors.

Nice card. Like the way you've bent up the butterfly wing. A2 isn't great for UK card sizes but we're spoiled for choice with the others anyway.

Foil combined with the beautiful butterfly frame adds up to a lovely card!

Beautiful card, love the gorgeous foil color!

Soooo pretty

Such pretty effect the foil gives to it and they make such pretty framing for the sentiment

The butterfly frame is such a pretty die and would make any card beautiful
