The Divine Dahlia, Distressed Snowdrift Collage snowflakes and Tanglewood Frame become a merry trio on today's card. Hi there, Jean Okimoto here, with a just-in-time design for another holiday card. Or a Christmas thank-you card.
I've been admiring the beautiful holiday florals on dresses, scarves and giftwrap paper - and decided to combine some Memory Box and Open Studio dies and see what I come up with. I think the Divine Dahlia - cut in rich red felt - resembles a winter camellia. Hope you agree!
Cut the medium Tag You're It Rectangle and Tanglewood Frame from chartreuse cardstock. Attach the Tanglewood Frame to lime green cardstock, then cut it with the tag die again. Wondering why not just attach it to the lime green background? It's sturdier and easier to cut when it's attached to the cardstock before it's cut and it's a lot easier to handle that way. Trust me.
Cut the bow - from the Truly Gifted Set - from Key Lime Distressed Dots. Assemble the bow and attach it to the tag, then attach the tag to a side-folded A2 card of lime green cardstock.
Cut the Distressed Snowdrift Collage snowflakes from glittered white craft foam. Here's a tip - instead of pulling the delicate diecut snowflakes out of the surrounding craft foam, pull the excess foam away from the snowflakes to release them.
Attach adhesive label paper to red and moss green wool-blend felt and cut the sold and detailed Divine Dahlias and the leaves. The paper stabilizes the felt - especially helpful for the detailed dies - and prevents liquid adhesives from soaking through the felt. Attach the dahlia, leaves and snowflakes to the card.
Hope you like my Memory Box version of the popular holiday florals out there this year!
Special thanks to everyone who joined us for the Winter Bliss class at Impress last weekend. It was my last class of 2015...and now I can't wait to start designing class cards with the 2016 release. Extra special thanks to Linnell for her surprise holiday/last-class-of-the-year/birthday (shared with Jan!) lunch - what a delicious and truly special occasion that was. Loved the party favors and sweet treats from Chris and Jan too and birthday thanks to Robin, Deanna and Thalia too!
Thanks for stopping by...see you again tomorrow.
Jean,
Thanks for sharing another beautiful card.
