Let it Snow
by Donna Sledzik

Happy Friday everyone!

Today I have another card, featuring the "Gnome for Christmas" clear stamp set.  As a stamper I like to see various cards using the same stamp set to get more mileage out of my stamps.

For today's card I stamped "Nathaniel Bunny" on a strip of watercolor paper.  Cut a mask for the bunny from a postage note.  Mask the bunny and stamp the tree from the "Gnome for Christmas" set to the left of the bunny.  Create a mask for the tree and place that on the stamped tree, (leaving the bunny mask in place).  Stamp another tree behind the bunny.  Remove the tree mask and place it over the previously stamped tree. Stamp one more tree to the right of the bunny.  Remove all the masks.  Stamp and emboss the snowflakes from the stamp in the sky area.  Stamp Let it Snow on the bottom of the strip.  Stamp and die cut the Santa hat.  Watercolor the stamped scene.  On a Kraft card use texture paste and a dot stencil.  To assemble the card, adhere the stamped strip to the left side of the card. Tie red and white twine around the top of the card.  Glue a button on top of the twine and sequins to the right side of the card.

Paper Angel of Wonder
by Marnie Bushmole

Good Morning!  Holiday preparations are in full swing here.  I did find a little time to play with some new techniques.   Today my cards background uses one of these.   The card is embellished with a gold matte and shiny Paper Angel(she is so adorable) layered on top of card stock and matte gold card stock cut from the Pinpoint Circle Layers.  For the greeting I stamped the word "Wonder" from the Words to Live By stamp set, in Versamark by Imagine Crafts and embossed it with Imagine Crafts Gold embossing powder.

For this background  I've used Tulip dry fabric dye as a watercolor medium.  It is so much fun to play with and I love how the dye reacts when water is added.  Here I have used black dye only, I wet the sprinkled dye then added some drops of Perfect Pearls Mist "Sunflower Sparkle" for a hint of gold.   I love how the black dye had all of these other colors pop out of it not just black but pink and oranges as well.

Christmas Bliss
by Shelby Thomas

Good morning Memory Box fans.  I thought I'd be able to hold onto Autumn for just a little longer, but alas with the blast of winter (aka blizzard like conditions) we are currently experiencing, Christmas is on the docket for today's card.

Pastelchristmas

I thought I'd try soft colors of peach and white for today's A2 card for a cleaner look.  I used the Blissful Bundle and cut it out twice to create a quasi circle in the center of the card.  I used the Merry Christmas sentiment from the Gnome for Christmas stamp set and stamped in Versamark and then embossed with silver embossing powder.

It's difficult to tell in the picture, but the plain old white cardstock wasn't shimmery enough for the shimmery peach paper, so brushed on some Perfect Pearls mist.  Just a tip, you don't always have to spray directly on the paper...I spritzed the Perfect Pearls on my crafting mat and then used a flat brush to paint it on the cardstock.  This helps from over saturating the paper which then leads to more warping than I want to deal with:)

Pastelchristmas2

I added some white enamel dots and flat back glass beads for a little extra bling.  That's it for me today!  Thanks for swinging by for a visit.

Rainbows and Butterflies
by Lindsay

Hello friends!

I am stopping in today to share a bright rainbow inspired card, using quite a few fabulous Memory Box products! I know the snow is going to appear any time, hence the need for a bright and happy card! Watch out gray skies! I have a rainbow here!

DSC_0014 1

I started with the amazing Stitched Lattice Background, die cutting it from white card stock. I took a rainbow of colors from my Zig Clean Color Brush Markers, and added color to the bottom portion of each diamond, blending the color upwards with a waterbrush.

DSC_0015 1

I set that aside to dry, and began die cutting the lovely Stitched Vivienne Butterfly from Vellum. Next, I die cut the Sketchbook Love from black card stock, multiple times, and glued them together to get a thicker piece. I then adhered the panel to a white card base with lots of foam tape, and adhered the butterflies, and Love die cut to it. To finish it, I adhered a few black sequins to tie in the black of the sentiment.

Thank you so much for joining me today! I hope you give rainbows a try on your next project!

I love white embossing on kraft cardstock - it's a combination I use throughout the year.  Bright pops of glitter, gold and sequins turn any design into a handmade card that's sure to be appreciated.

Stamp and emboss Valley Berries and add the glittery Resting Birds - all in a row this time.  Open Studio's Stitched Rectangle Layers create the perfect background and frame for this simple design.

Save the little piece inside the "y " and the dot above the "j" when you diecut Sketchbook Joy.  Upcycle them into an exclamation point for your greeting.

Please visit our Ideas Gallery for additional details, supply lists and more holiday inspiration.

Cabin Pine Tree and Glittered Contempo Birds
by Jean Okimoto

OpenStudioCabinPineTree-MemoryBoxSeasonToSparkle-OpenStudioPinpointRectangleLayers-OpenStudioContempoBirds-JeanOkimoto-ImagineCrafts-Delicata-VersaFine-ImpressCardsAndCrafts

Combine the delicately-vintage Cabin Pine Tree with some cool Contempo Birds for a winter card with a something old/something new theme.

Speaking of old...senior moments, caring for a senior dog and a traveling husband made me forget I was scheduled to post today.  Jean Okimoto here this weekend - hope you like this quick card. Thank goodness Dave's designed so many great products for us to create with...especially on days like this!

OpenStudioCabinPineTree-OpenStudioContempoBirds-OpenStudioPinpointRectangleLayers-MemoryBoxSeasonToSparkle-JeanOkimoto-ImagineCrafts-ImpressCardsAndCrafts

Stamp Cabin Pine Tree with Delicata Silvery Shimmer - it's THE silver ink for all of your holiday cards.  Sparkly, shimmery...and perfect for detailed designs like the intricate pine needles and branches.

Stamp Season to Sparkle with VersaFine Satin Red (perfect for Christmas - and Valentine's Day too!)  and emboss it with detail clear powder.  Trim both stamped pieces with the Open Studio Pinpoint Rectangle Layers.  Cut the greeting with the 1-¾" x 2-¾" die first, then trim off the excess cardstock with the inner edge of a larger Pinpoint Rectangle.

Cut Contempo Birds from red glittered craft foam and cut the wings from red cardstock.

Attach everything to a top-folded 5-½" square card of white cardstock - attach the greeting with foam dots.  Add some light gold sequins for a warm contrast with the frosty silver.

Very special thanks to everyone who joined us for the Asian Holiday Greetings and Merry and Quick classes at Impress.  Thanks too - for everyone at Impress for their help in setting the classroom up and find those great Memory Box products for everyone to buy! Thanks for stopping by...I'll be back soon with another card!

Dashing Through the Snow
by Jenny Griffiths

Hello Crafty Friends!

After some quality time in my craft studio let's see what all the messiness was about...I must ask, "are you a tidy or a messy crafter?"  I'm admitting to being one of the messy ones but love creating, especially with the new goodies from the Winter Collection.

Dashing Front-JGriffiths

This card started with the background...I stamped and embossed (clear) the beautiful Dancing Snowflakes stamp then swirled some inks over the entire surface to bring out the detail of the snowflakes.  The snow drift was created from the Curved Dashing dies--there are both the words and the snow drift in the set! I added the Sketch Tree and Little Deer before positioning the Modern Tile Background elevated with narrow strips of foam adhesive on the reverse side.

IMG_8747I couldn't decide which size sled to include so it had to be "both"!  Each one was die cut in red, and I cut the larger one in Kraft paper as well so I could piece the colors together.  The smaller red one looked a little too "new" so I scuffed it up with a bit of fine sandpaper.  Lastly, I added the words (carefully) to the tile background then gave some attention to the inside of the card....

Inside Dashing Card
It's pretty simple, I repeated the snow drift, trees and the deer and left room to write a holiday sentiment.  Hope you like today's card, I'm getting into the holiday mood early!

Happy Friday!
