Good morning all! Happy Thanksgiving (this week) to those celebrating. Of course after Thursday, the mad rush to Christmas begins. With that in mind, I thought I'd get a head start on some shaker Christmas tags.
This one uses both the positive and negative portions of the stitched mittens die cut. The negative creates the window and the positive is placed on the base portion of the tag.
I used the Gnome for Christmas stamp set for the sentiment and snowflakes and stamped with Azure blue Stazon ink since the tag front was a non-porous paper.
Tags are super easy to make when using the shaped die cuts like this one where I used the stitched hexagon dies. On the base portion of the tag I stamped the O Christmas Tree stamp using distress inks (Pine Needles and Lucky Clover) and spritzed with Green Patina Perfect Pearls. I also spritzed the front portion of the tag with the same perfect pearls and then blended in some Gathered Twigs distress inks.
I stamped the sentiment and star with Versamark and then embossed with Gold Pearl embossing powder.
How stinkin cute is this little guy? I used Plush Sheldon to create the negative shape for the window of the tag and I drew in his eyes and nose.
The hat and scarf and arms are all part of the die though I trimmed down the scarf. I also used some flat back black pearls for the buttons.
And last but not least is this adorable gnome all dressed up with Copics! I stamped the background with the snowflakes in the Gnome for Christmas stamp set and embossed with Silver Pearl embossing powder (have to look very closely in this picture:)) The window was cut out using the Stitched Rectangular layers.
And that's it for today's Christmas Shaker tags! Fun, easy and hopefully a little "wow" for the recipients. Have a fantastic rest of your week
I love this idea. Your tags are creative and beautiful. Thank you and happy TD.
