Tiles and Poppies
by Shelby Thomas

Good morning everyone!  So glad the weekend is here.  The weather has been so glorious here in Southern Colorado that it almost feels like late Spring.  When winter does arrive, it is going to feel so much more brutal!   It feels so warm and sunny that I want to hang onto summer/spring just a little while longer and enjoy the last bits of flowers that are still blooming.

Doesn't this feel remind you of warm summer days?!!  I used the used my Sennelier watercolor paints on an A2 sized piece of hot pressed watercolor paper and created an ombre of reds, oranges and yellows.  I cut out the Prim Poppy 3 times from this paper getting a different color combination with each cut.  The paper behind the tiles was completed using a blue/green color wash with the Sennelier paints.

I used double sided adhesive foam and cut out the front panel using the awesome new die called Modern Tile Background.

The doubled sided foam adhesive is so wonderful for giving more intricate dies dimension without having to fussy cut the foam.  I adhered the flowers to the frame with some parts of the die cut behind the frame and some portions in front.  I added a few sequins and have a great all occasion card.

Thanks for stopping by today, and I hope your weekend is wonderfully creative!

Do so love the Tile background, could see lots of uses for that one! Beautiful blending and colours on your poppy and such a gorgeous card.

I so love poppy dies and stamps....very pretty use of them.

Beautiful card and I just love the new modern tile background die!

Just lovely, Shelby

Love the tile background die. Looks like it will be very versatile. The card is lovely.

This is the next card I'm going to make!
