Tag Card

I needed a quick and easy project for a class recently and I wanted to incorporate the Open Studio STITCHED BOWS die set no. 30056.  I started by making a simple tag using the largest of the STITCHED BOWS and a BOTANICAL STEM die no. 99088 adhered to a manila shipping tag.

I cut the bow from Memory Box Dots paper and the Botanical Stem from Memory Box Distressed Dots, both in Pool.  I was going to stop there until I found the perfect Memory Box notecard and a piece of their discontinued cloud paper.  Voila:  Tag Card!

Here's the easy strategy I taught for making the bow using Glue Dots:

  • Put a Glue Dot in the center of the bow on the front and stick on the tiny piece that you will wrap around the center later.  (We did this first so we wouldn't lose the tiny piece.)
  • Put another Glue Dot on the center of the bow on the back and carefully secure the tab on each end of the bow loop to that dot.
  • Add another Glue Dot on top of those secured tabs and wrap the tiny piece around the center of the bow and secure it on the dot.
  • Add another Glue Dot on the front top edge of the ribbon piece and secure it to the back of the bow.

When I'm ready to send this card, I'll stamp or write an appropriate sentiment over the clouds or on the tag and write a message on the inside of the card where I've already glued in a strip of the cloud paper.

And, of course, I made a second card--this one has the Stitched Bow and Botanical Stem off at an angle leaving me more room for a sentiment on the tag itself.

I really, really love the bow dies...so cute. I have one and when I mail a card with a bow die on it, I cut small pieces of scrap foam and put that in the loops to keep the bow from going flat in mailing...love your card....

Very pretty!

the bow with the stem is so pretty!
