Watercolor Birthday Wishes

Hi Crafty Friends!

Any Summer birthdays to celebrate?  Today let's break out the watercolors, Peerless Watercolors, available from Birch Press Designs, and a few really cool Memory Box dies.

Watercolor Birthday Wishes-Jenny Griffiths

Personally, I love these watercolors.  They are color intense, long lasting and easy to access.  I arranged mine in a notebook with color swatches inside the plastic sleeves but the actual watercolor laden paper on the outside of the plastic.  You can get the urge to watercolor and be creating in just a few seconds--just add a brush and water.

Once you get started, it's hard to stop---this is one of many backgrounds made during a brief crafty session.

In order to get an accurate arch I employed a nearby flower pot saucer--it had the basic curve I was looking for.  I set the saucer on the paper and adhered the individual die cut letters, following the curve--easy!

A little watercoloring on the butterfly background and some essential sequins finished this cheerful, Summer-y card.  Makes you think of rainbow sherbet doesn't it?

If you have a Summer birthday, this one's for you!--hope you have a very happy birthday.

Happy Friday!

A Happy Halloween Card!

Hello Everyone!

I wanted to share another card that I will be teaching at The Stamp Addict in San Diego on Saturday Aug. 1st in my Memory Box Holiday Cards class.

Halloween P7190037

I used my Micron pen to draw some eyes on each bat!

Halloween P7190038

I used the Glue Gloss pen to glue all the pieces down...I love that little lipgloss like sponge tip applicator, it is so easy to use!

Halloween P7190039

So please tell me you see the smiley face! :)

Halloween P7190040

And I even put the extra bat on the inside so when the recipient opens the card they get a little batty surprise!

Halloween P7190041

I used the Uppercase Alphabet Soup and Stitched Halloween Circle Frame Die sets for this card.

Halloween P7190042

This was a fun, quick card for Halloween that isn't spooky at all!!! I hope you like it! Remember if you would like to join me for the class on Aug. 1st and you are in the San Diego area, just give the store a call to reserve your seat!

A Blooming Poppy and Seeds of Happiness

MemoryBoxBloomingPoopy-MemoryBoxSeedsofHappiness-MemoryBoxCascadiaButterflyTrio-OpenStudioPinpointRectangleLayers-JeanOkimoto-ImpressCardsAndCrafts-ImagineCrafts-BrillianceInkpads-MementoDyeInkpads

Hi there - looking for a way to use the other section of the new Blooming Poppy Die?  We used the left side in my previous post - now we get to play with a beautiful butterfly and some glitter.  Jean Okimoto here today with a flowery summer design for you.

Memory Box Products

  • NEW Blooming Poppy Die 99223
  • NEW Pinpoint Rectangle Layers Die Set 30065
  • Seeds of Happiness Stamp B2054
  • Cascadia Butterfly Trio 99095

Imagine Crafts Products

  • Memento Dye Ink Refills - Angel Pink, Dandelion
  • Brilliance Inkpads - Pearlescent Lime, Orange, Coral and Thyme - and Sunflower Yellow and Rocket Red Gold
  • Daubers

Watercolor the background with diluted Angel Pink and Dandelion inks.  Daub the diecut with Brilliance inks.  Cut the large Cascadia Butterfly from Scor-Tape.  Attach it behind the Blooming Poppy butterfly and brush glitter onto the adhesive.

Here's a quick tip for you.  The Pinpoint Rectangle Layers add a perfect frame to any design.  Use it to cut custom-sized greeting shapes too.    Stamp the greeting and cut it with the one of the smaller dies - then trim off any excess using just one edge of a larger die.

Chatfords Wreath...

PamSparksChatsfordWreathJoy630

Christmas in July is always so fun! Pam here...I kinda got off the beaten path color scheme wise with this card but never fear...keep scrolling and you'll find more traditional colors with the same dies.

Here's the NEW Chatfords Wreath combined with some other Memory Box dies.  Check out the links at the bottom of the post.

I die cut the wreath two times from two different green card-stocks, kept all the pieces and just interchanged them between the two cards.

I love how these cards turned out!  So fun... there is another, different one on my blog that I posted earlier in the week... just click on my name to see it too.

The white just makes it pop! Some pearls and Liquid pearls and it's time to celebrate!  or bust out singing a carol or two!  : )

Shimmery Corby Merry Christmas

Good Afternoon!  Christmas In July is in full swing at the store I teach at CraftFancy.  So we are all very inspired by the fun stuff Memory Box and Poppy have come up with.  Everyone is humming Christmas Carols and plotting their holiday projects!   It always makes for a fun little break in the Summer festivities.

Here is a Christmas card I created using the Corby Ornament 99264 which is colored and shimmered with Distress Ink and Perfect Pearls.  This is layered over a shiny red Drop Ornament Layers 99225 on top I added a cap from the Ornament Caps and Hooks 99213.  The Merry Christmas is from 2 Open Studio sets Make Merry 30062  and We Wish You 30064 cut from green then shimmered with Wink of Stella clear.  All of the Patterned Paper are Memory Box Signature Patterns.  Also the bow is a twine with a bit of gold in it!  Gotta love that!

I hope you like it!  I'm excited about this one!  I love things that sparkle and shimmer especially for the Holidays.

OK I'm done now back to our regularly scheduled Summer Festivities.....At least for now!  Thank you for stopping by have a Wonderful Day!

MemoryBoxBloomingPoppies-MemoryBoxSketchbookImagine-OpenStudioPinpointRectangleLayers-OpenStudioStitchedCountryBorders-JeanOkimoto-ImpressCardsandCrafts-PeerlessWatercolors-ImagineCrafts

Congrats to all of the Holiday Blitz prizewinners - enjoy your wonderful dies!  Jean Okimoto here today with some soft pretty colors - and a bit of sparkle for you.  I love the new Blooming Poppies Die - here's just a portion of it.  I'll use the other beautiful, delicate section on another card.

Memory Box Products

  • NEW Blooming Poppies Die 99223
  • NEW Sketchbook Imagine Die 99253
  • NEW Open Studio Pinpoint Rectangle Layers Die Set 30065
  • Open Studio Stitched Country Border Dies Set 30042
  • Cherry Blossom and Granny Smith Notecards (for diecutting)

Imagine Crafts Product

  • Gold Sheer Shimmer Spritz

Paint watercolor paper with overlapping shades of pink, blue, green, teal and yellow Peerless Watercolors.  Air-dry it.  Spritz it with Sheer Shimmer Spritz and air-dry it again.

Cut it with a Pinpoint Rectangle Layer.  Cut the left portion of the Blooming Poppies from Cherry Blossom - leave a ½" wide border at the bottom.  Trim the border with the scalloped Country Border die.

Cut "imagine" from Granny Smith - leave in it the die.  Attach ¼" wide Scor-Tape horizontally across the back of the diecut and cut it again to cut the adhesive.

Attach the pieces to a top-folded A-2 card of white cardstock.  Attach a clear mini-sequin over the first "i" in "imagine."  Attach pale pink sequins.  Coordinate the card with a matching Cherry Blossom Envelope.

Spring seems to have come and gone so quickly this year...remember all of the great dies and stamps from the Spring Release in April?  They're featured - along with favorites from the January release - in the July Look Book.  I'm thrilled/happy/excited to share my just-released Look Book with you today!  I hope you like it - actually, I hope you love it.

Thanks Dave - and everyone at Memory Box - for your great editing and photography - and for inviting me to share my ideas with everyone.   I love the cool, quirky titles you gave each card too.

Special thanks to everyone who took the Holidays with Memory Box Class at Impress last week  - I loved designing cards with the new release and hope you enjoyed the class!  I'll be teaching the class again at 1:30 on August 29, after the new Cool Winter Wishes class at 10:30 that day.
