It's warm and breezeless in Seattle today - let a frosty Snowflake Collage card cool things off a bit! Jean Okimoto here with another design featuring our just-released 2015 Holiday Collection.
I think the new Snowflake Collage is destined to become like the next Reverse Butterfly Collage in popularity. It's similarly crisp, classic and ever so versatile - you'll love what you can do with it!
- NEW Snowflake Collage Die 99186
- NEW Open Studio Pinpoint Rectangle Layers Die Set 30065
- Open Studio Party Time Clear Stamps Set CL5153
- Peony Notecard
- Peony Envelope
Paint watercolor paper with the reds, pinks, oranges and yellows from the Peerless Watercolors 40-piece set. Cut a template of the die from scrap cardstock and use it to help determine the placement of the different colors.
Peerless Watercolors are available at Birch Press Design - an online shop owned by Dave and Monica Brethauer, who just happen to own Memory Box too.
Cut Snowflake Collage from an 8.5" x 5.5" piece of white cardstock. Position the diecut cardstock over the watercolor paper so you can see where the colors will appear. The larger piece of cardstock lets you select the perfect layout for the prettiest snowflakes - then you can trim off the extra cardstock. Diecut both layers together with the Pinpoint Rectangle Layer. Attach the two layers.
Prep black cardstock using the embossing powder tool. Stamp "celebrate" with VersaMark and emboss it with detail white powder. Attach everything to a Peony Notecard - use foamdots for the greeting. Attach gold sequins. Coordinate the card with a Peony Envelope.
Be creative and cool this weekend...join us for two Memory Box classes in air-conditioned comfort at Impress in Tukwila. It's Die-Versity at 10:30 - move beyond basic diecutting with different ways to get the most from your dies. Very outside-the-box!
The Summer Bliss class at 1:30 introduces some of the new dies - and adds some of our classic favorites to bright, sunny cards that celebrate Seattle's short, sweet summer.
Don't have time for a class? Stop by Impress anyway. They've already received the new release - here's a peek!
Thanks for stopping by again today! Hope you're enjoying our holiday collection reveal - and that you've been inspired to get a headstart on your Christmas cards.

Very pretty. Christmas cards are probably my fav to make...it's difficult to get into the "spirit" with close to 100 degree temps, but the new release sure helps. LOL

Thanks Sara - it's a great release! Sometimes I just sit and stare at the dies and don't know which one to use first.

Thanks Jan - I thought snowflakes and hot colors would be a a nice diversion from the high temps!

Jean, another wonderful idea for the new dies. The effect you obtained is just gorgeous. I have some of the Peerless Watercolors and never think to pull them out. You have inspired me in another direction as well.

I can't wait to make this card ! You've put my favorite elements in this card: watercolor techniques, snowflakes and sequins! The red is so festive! Thanks again, Jean.
