Watercolored Flowers

Greetings friends. I have been doing a lot of cards lately with my Peerless watercolor paints. In fact, the card I am posting today is one that we did in my Peerless watercolor class. When I saw the Blooming Sketch Border F2037, I knew it would be perfect for coloring.

To make the card, I stamped my flowers onto 140lb watercolor paper with black Versafine ink.  I worked in sections and wet the outside edges of the paper with water and added some olive paint I then worked my way in to the center of the card so that the paint faded to white.  When the green paint was dried, I colored the petals and leaves with an assortment of watercolor paints.  I let that paint dry and then added a second layer of color here and there to flowers to add a bit of dimension.  For example, the yellow flowers only used one color yellow paint.  I painted them yellow, let them dry, and then added a second layer of the same color to the inside petals to make them look darker.

To finish the card, I stamped the Kindness of People saying (C2068) with the same black ink.  Here is a close up of the coloring:
