Deer Friend
Good Morning Crafty Friends!
Have you seen all the new Memory Box stamps, dies and stencils? Woo Hoo, they are spectacular! Last week we had a fun blog blitz (scroll back to see it if you missed it) and congrats to all the daily winners.
Today I am featuring the Happy Fawn --he's got a lot of personality and there is a perfect sentiment from Poppy Stamps for a friendship card...."you are a deer friend".
I watercolored this little fawn and the Blooming Leaf Border using ordinary "hard cake" watercolors---just add water! I like using a #3 round brush and I "paint" plain water in my path before adding the actual color. I find the color travels and blends well this way. I created the ground he is standing on with watered down black watercolor paint... just scribble the color around his hooves and stretch it out towards the edge of the card.
I also used one of my favorite dies, Stitched Rectangle Layers from the Open Studio collection--it's extremely versatile and the stitched detail is clever, don't you think?
I have met so many wonderful people in this crafty world and many become dear friends, this card is for you all!
Happy Friday!
This is to just to sweet for words. :)
