So Many Hearts!

Hello again...here's another idea using the versatile new Half a Heart Die.

Jean Okimoto here - between trips to the vet, pharmacy and buying little shirts to help cocker spaniel Taffy's skin condition heal.  I'd post a picture here, but she refuses to pose in her little black turtleneck with cut-off sleeves.  I'll just use a Taffy Notecard to diecut a Stitched Heart instead.

We're using the smaller die from the Half a Heart set for this card.  Diecut the halves twice - then add a line of faux stitching, like we did on the previous card.

If your cutting and/or base plates are scratched or rough, protect your diecuts with printer paper.  Cut the largest Stitched Heart from raspberry silk cardstock.  Cut the small Half a Heart on the right side.  Turn the Stitched Heart over and cut the small Half a Heart again - leaving about ⅛" uncut between the two columns of heart halves.

Place the edge of the largest Stitched Rectangle along the center of the Half a Hearts  and dry-emboss it.  Use the rubber cutting mat and embossing plates recommended by the manufacturer or your diecut machine.  Here's how I stack my Grand Calibur embossing mat and plates - then I flip the whole stack over so the base plate is on the bottom.  There must be a reason it's called the base plate, right?

Cut another Stitched Heart from Taffy cardstock. Cut the third Stitched Heart from the Vanilla Bean Distressed Dots Signature Pattern.

Attach a piece of Scor-Tape behind white glittered craft foam and diecut "love."   Attach everything to a 5.5" square card of kraft cardstock.  Add clear and pink sequins.

If you're still in the thinking-about-buying-it mode, please remember that retailers often cut back on holiday items after the big day is over.  They need to make room for the next holiday or season - and may taper off ordering some of the Valentine-ish items.  Hearts are universal and great for many occasions, but this would be a good time to buy a specific product so you won't need to wait for your special order to arrive.   (end of infomercial...smile!)

Please visit our Ideas Gallery for detailed directions and more Valentine ideas.

Thanks for stopping by - have fun with the great new dies and stencils from Memory Box, Open Studio and Poppystamps this Valentine's Day!
