Hearty Valentine's
Happy Super Bowl Sunday everyone! I know there are a couple of Seattle Seahawk fans out there (and at Memory Box Co) getting ready for the big game. Best of luck to whichever team you are cheering on!
Valentine's Day is just around the corner, well right after Punxsutawney Phil lets us know how many more weeks of winter we'll endure! I had a play around with the die Half a Heart 99130 (I kept calling it Have a Heart in my head and wondered why it didn't come up in the search on the MB site!) and thought I'd do a quick tutorial to show you two ways to use the die.
The first set of images will demonstrate how to make a full heart with a bit of dimension. Lay the die in the desired position. I always use removable tape to hold my dies in place even when I'm using the Sizzix magnetic plate. Run through your die cut machine.
This is what the first cut will look like.
Turn cardstock over and place die adjacent to the first cut and align to create a heart. Tip: to create dimensional hearts that stays in the cardstock, make sure the die is not overlapping the previous cut. Run through die cut machine.
Voila...a full heart. In the card shown below, I adhered decorative paper to the layering card stock and did the above steps. So for sure, the die will cut through 2 layers of medium weight card stock.
With this image, I used one piece of two sided decorative paper, placed the die in the desired position, ran it through the die cutting machine. Then I folded the paper back onto itself to create a full heart showing the other side of the paper. How cute is that?
Here's the card created with the Half a Heart and I added a bows from the Open Studio die set called Truly Gifted. I cut the same bow 3 times. There are 3 different and fantastic bows to choose from in this set...love them all.
Thanks for stopping by today and hope your team wins and the rest of your weekend is fantastic.

Cute cards and I especially love it when dies can be used multiple ways.

OMG! Now I know what I want to buy first thing Monday morning when I get to my stamp shop. I just can't keep up with you guys with all the gorgeous dies and ideas to play with. I get some dies and don't get to them right away and then more come to the forefront that I just have to get and on and on it goes and now I have a collection that is growing in a HUGE way. I love this card and the use of the dies. . . . gotta have them! Thanks for the demo, they help so much! lol
