Peace in the New Year

Happy New Year Crafty Friends!

My New Year started with a surprising cold weather forecast--I awoke to a beautiful blanket of heavy frost on the house and yard. Go ahead laugh....FROST? Yes, but that's so unusual for us in San Diego that it was breaking news on TV. You're probably getting several feet of snow, right? Lucky you! Here, locals are heading to the mountains to experience snow but are encountering traffic gridlock--hope they keep their cool (pun intended).

Anyway, my wish for the New Year is PEACE --may we see it, feel it and share it in 2015.

Die cut large Precious Snowflake from navy paper panel. Set die cut aside and use only the cut out on paper.
Tape snowflake stencil to navy panel to hold in place while inking stencil with white ink. Remove stencil, emboss white snowflakes with clear powder.

Adhere silver glitter panel onto reverse side of navy panel over snowflake opening. From white shimmer paper die cut another Large Precious Snowflake, adhere die cut to opening in navy panel---silver glitter panel shows through and snowflake is outlined in white shimmer paper. Note- white snowflake is trimmed so that string and bow remain silver glitter.

New Year's Wish Detail

Die cut Small Precious snowflake, cover with light blue glitter, adhere to center of large snowflake, add blue gemstone.

Die cut PEACE letters from white shimmer paper, adhere vertically on left side of navy panel.

Die cut Peace Doves twice, glitter one in light blue and the other in clear diamond. Trim blue dove retaining wing, adhering blue wing to reverse side of white dove depicting dove with two wings. Adhere to card with foam adhesive.
