Fairyland Butterflies

Good Morning Crafty Friends~

Ready for the weekend?  Before it starts, I have this colorful Fairyland Butterflies card to share with you.  When I saw the new 2015 collection for the first time, this die stood out as my definite favorite.

Fairyland Butterflies_jennyGriffiths

The front of the white note card is die cut with the Fairyland Butterflies die, backed with blue patterned paper, fitted and layered with the same die from black paper, then cut along the right side of the butterfies giving it a "cut lace" effect.

Bluebird Distressed Dot paper is adhered inside of the card and will be embellished also.  When the card is closed you might not notice the cut edges because it lays over the blue patterned paper.  When opened, the front of the card looks like this:

Now, I'm not going to fib, the paper piecing on this card took some time and careful tweezer action.  Each piece of colored cardstock on the butterflies was inlaid into the black outline.  Sometimes I'm in the mood to create an intricate card like this one and enjoy the process.

To make a quicker card, simply back the butterflies with a single color of patterned paper which will show through the delicate die cut openings as in this version: (you will still need to create the 'cut lace' effect by cutting around the right side of the butterflies)

The inside of the card features the Surely Stitched Circle, Leavenworth Butterfly Trio, Cascade Butterfly Trio and the Hello Script die.  When adhering the "hello" die inside, I was careful to line it up with the butterflies on the front of the card, making sure it would be out of sight when the card was closed.

I hope you enjoyed this card and find some time this weekend to create a card or two.  Thanks for stopping by~

Happy Friday!

Heart Shaker Card

FullSizeRender (7)

Hi Everyone,

It's Donna here today with a Heart Shaker Card which uses the new Open Studio Rectangle Shapes.

I die cut the rectangle shaker frame using the Open Studio Shaker Rectangle Frames.  The other rectangle layers were cut from the Open Studio Rectangle Layers. Using the rectangle layers takes all the guess work out of figuring the correct size for your card layers.  Die cut the Heart Ribbon Die from Parchment Cardstock.  Make sure you  save the inside pieces.  I inked those with Fired Brick Distress Ink.  I adhered a thin piece of double sided tape to the backside of the die cut and turned it over and inserted the inside pieces.  Stencil the background cardstock of the shaker layer using Fired Brick Distress Ink and the Heart Confetti Stencil. Spatter the stenciled background with brown ink.  I adhered a piece of acetate to back of the shaker frame.  Place thin double sided tape to the edge of the stenciled background cardstock. Sprinkle the center with glitter and sequins. Adhere the frame to the top of that layer. Assemble the rest of the layers as shown.

If you don't own the exact sentiment, write one yourself. I did that here and then traced over it with a white pen, and I'm quite satisfied with the results. So give it a try!

(I'm still on Recovery Road attempting to conquer my Bronchitis that morphed into Sinisitus, so this post will have to be a shortie.)

Thanks for stopping and have a blessed day!

Cross Stitched Love

Crosstitchlove

Good Morning!  Marnie here  today with  another fun card using the Memory Box January 2015 Release.  This was a fun quick card using the Cross Stitched Love 99128 twice on a piece of red mirror card.  I layered the red onto black cardstock and popped it over some very cute satin ribbon hearts on top of the Dot Licorice paper.   This would be a great mass produced card if you had to make some for a full class or office.   Please forgive the glare I sometimes have issues taking photos of the mirror card.

Blooming Love

Good Morning Memory Box fans!  I hope your weekend is going well.  It's Shelby with you today and hopefully can  bring you a little inspiration on this Sunday morning.

Love

I'm loving the new release and the crazy great variety and creativity in the designs!
For the background I used the Bengal Background cut out in white cardstock.  The Bloomington Border die was cut out twice, embossed and then inked with white chalk ink while still in the die to ink up just the embossed areas.

Love2

The Bloomington Border was adhered using foam dots for some dimension.  I cut out All About Love word die and used some foam dots to attached to the Bloomington border.

I hope you enjoyed today's card and enjoy whatever is left your weekend!

Pink Splendid Clarkia

MarniePinkLove1

Good Morning!  Marnie here today with  another fun card using the Memory Box January 2015 Release.  I love how modern this card turned out with the bright pink Splendid Clarkia - 99068 flower embedded in the mat silver cardstock and the modern LOVE font from All About the Love - 30005 out of green shimmer cardstock.  This is, of course, part of my Die Cut Discovery class at CraftFancy this month and will also be featured at the CraftFancy Valentine Event this Saturday along with so many more projects created with this line of dies.
