City Lights

Good Morning!

Hearing about the snowy weather in many parts of the country inspired me to create this Christmas card.  I liked the idea of wilderness within sight of the city lights.  It's where the peace and calm of country life meet the bright lights and skyscrapers downtown.

City Lights

To create the sky and foreground I sponged and throughly blended multiple shades of blues then did the same with golden yellow ink as light shining from the building windows.  Once the color was in place I adhered the black die cut cityscape and lightly spritzed white ink to create the look of snow falling.  I wiped off most of the "snow" on the lower part of the buildings with a damp cloth and started on the trees...

I die cut the trees in different shades of green, lightly sponged each with white ink and spritzed with white ink as well.  The white snow drifts were simply scissor-cut free-form and layered with foam tape for dimension, then the trees were tucked in and around the layers.  A touch of light glitter was added for sparkle.

Momma and baby deer were die cut, sponged and spritzed in white ink--- they were in the snow fall too.  Momma deer is wearing a twine scarf to keep her cozy.

Christmas city- inside

Inside, I added a few more trees and the beautiful script Merry Christmas sentiment.  I like to finish the inside of my cards and leave room to write a personal message.

Here are Memory Box dies and stamps used in this card...
