Merry and Bright

Good morning!  I hope everyone who celebrates Thanksgiving had a wonderful holiday with delicious food and time with those you love.  And for those of you who were brave enough for Black Friday shopping, I hope you found some amazing deals:)

It's now the push time to get all of those holiday cards completed and ready for mailing.  One down with this one and only a gazillion more to go.

I wanted to use some less traditional Christmas colors and used a muted lavendar with white.  I stamped the snow with the stamp Snowfall (G1999) with white Memento Luxury and then embossed with white embossing powder.  The sentiment, Merry and Bright Combo, was stamped with lavendar die ink and adhered with pop dots to the Christmas trees.

The die cuts used are:

Frosted Christmas Trio (99003)

Peace Doves (99012)

Thanks for stopping by today and hope the rest of your day is crafty and peaceful!

The final gathering

I know I am really stepping outside the box with the final card in my gathered blooms series. For this last card I stamped just the blossoms multiple times with Memento toffee crunch, morocco and my favorite- bamboo leaves to create this fun autumnal pattern. Add  a strip of washi and a sentiment and this quick CAS card is finished.

Here is a recap of all of the cards in this series.

I hope that all of you have had a blessed Thanksgiving.

Catalina Christmas Wreath

Happy Thanksgiving!  Well it is here in the US.  Marnie here!  Today we will spend time with our Families, extended Families and neighbors Giving Thanks and then we stuff ourselves with Turkey and other yummy things.  It's the kick off to our Holiday Season as well and I'm with my Mom's cooking up a storm with the Macy's parade on in the background getting ready to begin work on my Holiday Cards, after the feast and we wash the dishes of course.  So here is an idea for you.

The background for this is the Adornment Stencil 88587 stenciled over Shabby Shutters ink with clear embossing paste on glossy card stock.  Once everything was dry I misted the project and whipped away the green where the embossing paste was not.  I love the affect it looks like grand wallpaper.  Then the Catalina Wreath 98189 was cut from Gold Mirror Card and added to the top of the card.  To dress it up a bit more I added a few glitter domes to it.  The Merry Christmas B2019 is stamped in red ink.

Christmas in the City

FullSizeRender (14)

Hi Everyone,

I can't believe Thanksgiving is this week! Christmas will be here before we know it. So with that being said, I have another Christmas Card for you today.

The card base is die cut using the Sizzix Flip it Circle Die.

FullSizeRender (13)

The main image was stamped on a die cut circle and glued to the card base. I cut a second flip card base using patterned paper and trimmed it to fit on the front of the card. I added a few embellishments and pine branches cut from the Pine Needle Border. I stamped the sentiment on a Parchment strip of paper and adhered it under the twine.

Memory Box products used:

  • City Globe Stamp # E1957
  • Christmas in the City Stamp # B1955
  • Pine Needle Border Die # 98467
  • Cranberry, Parchment, Dill and Latte Distress Dot Cardstock.

I hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanks Giving: Gratitude Jar

I saw the idea for a gratitude jar in a magazine and adapted it for use at my Thanksgiving table.  I used an old blue Quick Seal glass canning jar that had belonged to my grandmother and made a large tag for it using Memory Box dies.

Memory Box Materials Used:

  • Pavilia Bloom Background die no. 98899; Mango Dots Paper
  • Pavilia Bloom Outline die no. 98888; Squash Moroccan Paper
  • Holly Branch die no. 98912; Dill Cardstock
  • Pinecone Corner die no. 98685; Dill Cardstock

Other Materials:

  • Brown Cardstock, The Paper Cut
  • Hero Arts Forever Green Ink
  • Jumbo Dauber, Imagine Crafts
  • Glue Dots; Glue Pen; Dimensional Dots; Ribbons from my ribbon bin

Steps to assemble tag:

I stamped a stack of small tags using the Simple Wreath stamp D1949 and Hero Arts Forever Green ink.  I will place a few at each place setting with a pen so that everyone can write down the things they are thankful/grateful for before placing each completed tag in the jar.

Maybe this will be the beginning of a new tradition in my home.  Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!!!

Happy Crafting!

Gathered blooms again

Hi Everyone! here is the second card in my gathered bloom series. I began this series with a straight up use of the stamp.

No I am going to move into other ways we can use this stamp. I have learned to look at my stamps- well for a lack of a better word- OUTSIDE THE BOX!!!! This way I can get the most use out of them.

Today, I die cut the cosenza tree border background. I then stamped the gathered blooms on each tree and colored them in autumnal colors with my copic markers. Each of the tree dies adhered back into the cardstock they were cut from with foam tape for a popped look.

When I look at this card, I see the view from my studio window of all the leaves changing colors and am reminded that Thanksgiving is just a week or so away!

Hope you enjoyed this "outside the box" use of gathered blooms. stay tune for my last installment- where I get really crazy!!!

Fri 21

Snowy Evergreens

'Morning Crafty Friends,

Over the last few days I have been watching the news coverage on the tremendous amount of snow falling, especially in Buffalo, NY.  My husband hails from Buffalo and I met some wonderful friends this past summer while visiting family and teaching there--shout out to Buffalo Stamps! Hope Sharon and her crew are holding up well.

So this card is for anyone getting snow right now---we're thinking of you and hoping you stay warm and safe.  And if you're getting "cabin fever" from staying indoors, keep crafting and try to enjoy your creative time!

Here's a clean & simple Christmas card that can be mass produced for all your friends and family.
Snowy Evergreens

On the outside, I inked and embossed the Snowy Evergreens stamp and the Merry Christmas sentiment in white.  I used only dove gray, slate gray, white, black and red paper on this card and layered everything for a fresh, tailored design.

On the inside, more of the same color scheme with white embossing on the Wonderful Time sentiment and the adorable Deer Family...someday I hope to see real live deer in the snow!

I can't believe that next week is Thanksgiving already---for a change of pace my family will be celebrating the day at The San Diego Zoo.  The Zoo is putting on a huge buffet dinner with all the trimmings then we're going to walk it off by exploring the rest of the zoo---kinda different but should be fun. What are your plans?  Cooking at your house?  Going "over the river and through the woods to Grandmother's house"?  Let us know, I'd love to hear about your Thanksgiving plans!

Happy Friday Everyone!
