Blog Blitz: Merry Christmas x Two!

Welcome to Day Two of the Memory Box Blog Blitz for the second half of the 2014 Holiday release!

The blitz extends through Friday with two posts per day. You have until 11:00 p.m. EST on Sunday, October 26th, to leave comments, from which winners will be randomly drawn and announced on Monday, October 27th.

I made two cards because I'm so enjoying the Woodland Tree Silhouette die. The first card was originally made for my guest designer spot at Simon Says Stamp last week, but then I found out they didn't have the Merry Christmas to All die in stock, so I had to change things up a bit.

So, for your viewing pleasure, I give you my original Merry Christmas in silver (even though in this light it looks green - see the second picture for its true color):

2014-10-10---MB---Merry-Xmas
Silver Merry Christmas: Cardstock: 110 lb (Neenah), wine and silver shimmer; Dies: Woodland Tree Silhouette, Merry Christmas to All, Alphabet Soup, Resting Birds (Memory Box); Stencil: Winter Tiny Snowflakes (Memory Box); Inks: Silvery Shimmer Delicata, Silver Encore Ultimate Metallic (Imagine Crafts); Gems (Mark Richards); Other: foam dimensional squares; Tools: Ink Blusher sponges (Imagine Crafts)

10-09-14 MB for SSS 7

And Merry Christmas in lilac (again, the lighting is much better for picture number 2):

  • If you don't have silver shimmer cardstock, apply Delicata Shimmery Silver ink directly to the paper and heat set - it's identical to shimmer paper.
  • Use the tips of your detail scissors to cut out words to stretch your dies' versatility! ("Christmas" was snipped from the rest of the die cut below.)

Great cards! I love the sparkle and I love how you really stretched that sentiment die!

Gorgeous card here and this die is just awesome, and one of those you+´ll grab again and again for soo many kinds of cards.

Beautiful cards. I love the gorgeous silver tree. I really like how you have improvised with the sentiment. Thank you for the chance to win

Both cards are so lovely, and I especially like the simplicity of the single shining ornament hanging from the tree limb!!

Love that lavender!

I like the idea of the ornament dangling from the tree. So simple yet elegant. I'm going to try this, thank you for sharing this. :)

Every year my family puts out Christmas Wish Lists for our Secret Santa. I was just going through all the dies and stamps to compile a list. My list is certainly getting long. I hope he has a large sack.

I bought the woodland tree die this afternoon with no ideas at all on how i would use it. Googled it this evening and love these two cards, gonna get going on them right away!
