Grand Birthday

Good morning everyone! I hope your weekend is going well and you're finding yourself doing something you love and enjoy.

In the last couple of class sessions, I asked the participants what cards they'd like to see or themes they'd like to work on.  One of the most repeated request was for more masculine cards.  I know I'm guilty of not always thinking of my husband or male friends/relatives when I'm creating, and then I'm always surprised when I can't find something in my card stash that doesn't have a butterfly or flower on it!

I went with a more traditionally masculine color palette and created the background with watercolors.  If you look closely (I'm hopingthe picture is clear enough!), I also used the stencil Diamond 88522 and created an impression (dry embossing) in the watercolor paper for some texture.

The die Grand Happy Birthday 98838 was used for the focal point and cut down to fit the design.  I used Beloved Stars 99056 for the flourish aspect.

However, I didn't think my husband would love the bow on this die, so I trimmed the bow off and replaced with a larger star (cut from the Beloved Stars die).

Thanks for swinging by today and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Fabulous Shelby, a perfect Birthday card for a male..hugs xxx
