Double Butterfly Arches

 Morning Crafty Friends!

Today it's all about the beautiful Delicate Butterfly Arches---Since I love their detail and lacy-like quality there are two on this card.  By positioning them with curved sides together, they look like a gate-fold card.  This is one of those cards where the paper piecing takes a little time but the results are worth it.  Also, fine tipped tweezers come in handy.

Here is what you need to get started...

#98982 Delicate Butterfly Arch

#98992 Solid Arch Background

B1851 Something Special Combo Stamp

Paper:

Lagoon

#10154 12x12  Veronica

Other:

Gemstones

Instructions:

  1. Die cut 2 Delicate Butterfly Arch from cream, lagoon blue and patterned card stock.  Die cut 2 Solid Arch Backgrounds from black card stock.
  2. Adhere cream Delicate Butterfly Arches to black Solid Arch Backgrounds making sure to adhere one on “good side” and the other one the “reverse side”.  The end result will show the panels facing each other (gatefold-style) with the butterflies on both panels flying upward, therefore one panel must be “flipped”.
  3. Using bone folder, smooth any rough edges on the "flipped" panel.
  4. Paper piece butterflies and different flowers from blue and patterned paper die cuts.
  5. Stamp sentiment on cream paper strip (centered).  Score 2 lines (approx. 1/8” apart) on both ends near stamped sentiment.  Fold centermost score line back, the second fold forward to create step type banner.  'V" cut both ends to create a "flag banner".  Attach to card below butterflies.
  6. Add gemstones
  7. Inside: Adhere cream paper layer and patterned paper butterfly in corner.
