Cards for Guys to Give or Receive

My new favorite stamp is LARGE CATTAILS G2020.  I paired it with another new stamp HELLO B2012 to create a set of notecards.  I could either send these cards to my guy friends or I could send them all to one guy and he could send them to his friends.  Either way, I think this combo of stamps makes a great card for guys to give or receive.

Other materials used:

  • Hero Arts Cup O' Joe Ink
  • MementoLuxe Rich Cocoa Ink
  • Memory Box notecards/cardstock in Parchment, Mocha, and Kraft
  • one odd scrap piece of a rust-colored cardstock to make a card
  • Memory Box Patterned Paper in Latte Gingham to make two top-folded notecards and for mounting a couple of stamped images

Hope you've had a chance to get stamping with some of the latest from Memory Box!

Happy Crafting!

Merry Chalkboard

I hope you've been enjoying seeing all of the awesome new stamps!  It's my turn (Shelby) to show you one of the brand spankin new stamps...so many stamps, so little time.  But I'm sure I'll be able to get them inky:) Today is the last day of the stamp blitz, so be sure to leave a comments on today's and all the posts in the last week to increase your chances of winning one of the stamps.

This card is similar to one we made yesterday in our Christmas in July Memory Box class at Simple Pleasures.

This stamp is called Merry Background G1998.  I stamped with VersaMark (perfect pearl works well too) and then used a large soft paintbrush to dust with Darcie's Chalkfx.  The chalk dust clings to the VersaMark and creates the perfect looking chalkboard.  I sealed the chalk with some of daughter's hairspray (I wasn't going to use my expensive good stuff!).  The gorgeous die cut in white cardstock is Grape Vine 99002.  I love the details on the leaves this die creates; very subtle and gorgeous.

Don't forget to leave a comment on today's post for a chance to win the new stamp Merry Background!

Thanks for stopping by today and hope the rest of your weekend is wonderful.

Winterberry Card

Mb berry card

Hi everyone!

Welcome to the Holiday Stamp Collection Blog Blitz!  I love rubber stamping so I am very excited about this part of the blog blitz.  Today I am sharing with you a clean and simple Christmas Card.  I know many people that need to make several Christmas Cards that would appreciate something they can make fairly quickly. This card couldn't be easier.

I stamped and embossed the Winterberry Branch Stamp and watercolored it. I stamped the Jolly Stamp with black ink and added a red bling over the word "Jolly". I inked the edges with Vintage Photo Ink and that's it. I don't think it gets any simpler than that.

Memory Box products used:

  • Winterberry Branch Stamp #G2015-new
  • Jolly Stamp #B2014-new
  • Parchment and Cranberry Cardstock

I hoped you enjoy this card. Don't forget to leave a comment on the blog for a chance to win the Winterberry Branch Stamp.

Have a great day!

Flower Bunch

There have been so many gorgeous samples with ideas for the holidays, but I really wanted to share something using the new Gathered Blooms stamp G2021.

I originally planned to color it with an assortment or oranges and yellows to make a fall bunch of flowers, but as I was coloring, I decided to add more pinks and ended up with a "summery" bunch of flowers instead. Have you ever done that? Started with something in mind and end up with something completely different? I find that to be one of the joys of stamping...you just never know what you will end up with.

To make the card, I stamped the flowers onto 140lb watercolor paper with black Versafine ink and then added a variety of Peerless Watercolor paints to the image to color it.  The nice thing about the blooms is that it is "sketchy" and allowed me to dab a bunch of colors all over the area rather than color each individual flower.  I am all about making a card as easy as possible!

Here is a close up of the Gathered Blooms and the coloring:

Majestic Winter

'Morning Crafty Friends,

Here we are near the end of the Memory Box Holiday Stamps Blog Blitz week.  Hope you have been checking in each day to see the team's inspiring cards.

The new holiday stamps are especially beautiful and creative---to tell you the truth, I couldn't decide on just one or two to feature so I chose several!

 IMG_7495 copy

I think the Majestic Deer is going on my Christmas cards this year---isn't he absolutely stunning?  Sometimes with "solid" stamps I use this trick to get a good result--after inking the stamp with pigment ink, lightly mist water onto the inked rubber, then stamp.  The water helps transfer the pigment into the paper evenly---give it a try and see for yourself.

I love the way the snowflakes are floating over the deer--like he's in the midst of a snow flurry!

Here's a look at the inside of the card...

Here are the new stamps (and one die) used on my card today in case you want to add them to your shopping list----just call me your friendly "enabler".

G2016 Forest Pine

D2011 Sm. Forest Pine

F1997 Majestic Deer

B2013 Wonderful Time

G1991 Snowflurry Combo

B2019 Merry Christmas

98729 Precious Snowflakes

Be sure to check our classes page for a class near you.  I will be teaching in Chicago, New York and Colorado Springs this summer---Hope to see you!

Merry and Bright Holidays

Memory Box Merry Background-Memory Box Merry and Bright-Memory Box Christmas-Jean Okimoto-Christmas-sequins-typography

Hi – hope you’re enjoying our Holiday Collection Stamps Blog Blitz this week!  Jean Okimoto here today, with a bright, contemporary card for you.

I love the great typestyles that Dave has chosen for the new Merry Background stamp.  The stamp is perfectly proportioned for an A-2 card – or you can cut it into smaller pieces for tags and greetings inside the card.

Memory Box Products

  • NEW Merry Background Stamp G1998
  • NEW Merry and Bright Combo Stamp  B2005 (there’s a star attached to the side)
  • Holly Berry Cardstock
  • Key Lime Notecard and Envelope

Imagine Crafts Inkpads

  • VersaFine Onyx Black
  • Memento Luxe Pear Tart, Pistachio, Espresso Truffle and Love Letter
  • Brilliance PearlescentThyme

Stamp the background on white cardstock with Onyx Black and emboss it with detail black powder.  Daub Pear Tart, Pistachio, Pearlescent Thyme and Love Letter onto the words.  Heat-set the inks.

Stamp the greeting on Holly Berry Cardstock with Espresso Truffle and emboss it with detail clear powder.

Diecut the trees from watercolor paper – attach three of them with foam dots.  Attach everything to a Key Lime Notecard.  Add some pale gold sequins.  Coordinate the card with a Key Lime Envelope.

Big Thanks to everyone who took last weekend’s Summer in Seattle class at Impress!  Hope you liked the techniques and new products featured in class that day.

Want a chance to win the Merry Background stamp?  Just enter a comment here – the entry deadline is 11:59 PM EST on July  20th.  The winner will be announced on July 21st.

Joyful Kisses

Welcome to day 2 of Memory Box's stamping blog blitz! Isn't it exciting that Dave has come out with so many cool new stamps! My wee heart went pitter pat when I saw them.
Today's CAS card uses a card blueprint that I often use. Two pieces of pattern paper with the stamped image at the top and the saying at the bottom. This blueprint can be used for any holiday or occasion.
I love mistletoe and collect mistletoe stamps. For todays card I used "mistletoe bundle" CS2001C and colored it with copic markers. I added glitter to the berries for a bit of shine. Lastly I added the sentiment CS2007B joyful combo and this quick clean and simple card was complete.
Be sure to leave a comment if you would like the chance to win this awesome mistletoe stamp. You have until Sunday, July 20th at 11:59pm EST to enter.  Keep checking in to see what my fellow designers are coming up with!
