It's A Blue Christmas
Actually, it's the 4th of July today and Christmas is months away but why not start thinking about the holidays---even though that's a little difficult when it's 90 degrees outside.
We're going with non-traditional colors here--blueberry, black and white ---and a touch of bluebird distressed dot paper inlaid into the black. These contrasting colors make for a dramatic holiday card...don't you think?
To get the word 'Christmas' in a different color, I simple laid a small scrap of the bluebird distressed paper over just that word on the die and cut---no need to cut everything, only what you need. I used a ball point glue pen in the opening then inlaid the extra die cut piece--it holds beautifully and is just the right amount of adhesive in this tiny area.
Let's talk about this gorgeous Poinsettia--I love it! It is so elegant and detailed.
Leaving the outline on the petals free makes it easy to bend them forward for dimension---and this die not only cuts both parts of the petals, it also embosses the leaves!
Here's a look at the inside of the card...
I thought these graceful doves would be a nice addition around the sentiment.
Did you notice all the new stamps in this fabulous holiday collection? Wow! They're beautiful and just what we all need.
Shall I help you start your shopping list?

Jenny,
Gorgeous card, and not because it is in my favorite color. I love the new word dies, they add a dramatic look to the cards. The new Poinsettia die is gorgeous, love the free outline, adds another dimension. Great job.
