Hi - Jean Okimoto dropping in for a surprise (to me too!) post this sunny afternoon. I started playing with the intricate Lanthenay Designer Stencil and Radiant Neons - they created the perfect backdrop for the new Floating Butterflies from the just-released Summer Collection. I decided to share the idea with you right away, before I forgot what I did.
- Lanthenay Desginer Stencil 88549
- Distressed Grid Designer Stencil 88531
- NEW Floating Butterflies Die 98978
- NEW Floating Butterflies Background Die 98991
- Darla Butterfly Die Set 98264 (used the antennae)
- Kaleidoscope Butterfly Die Set 98261 (used the antennae)
Stencil Lanthenay on white cardstock with Radiant Neons Electric Purple, Electric Blue and Electric Green (sound familiar?) and dry the inks. Diecut it with the Floating Butterflies Background.
Stencil Distressed Grid onto a Wisteria Notecard with Electric Purple and emboss it with detail clear powder. Attach the stenciled butterflies.
Diecut Floating Butterflies from black cardstock. Attach Scor-tape behind a scrap of black cardstock and diecut two Darla Butterfly antennae and one Kaleidoscope Butterfly antennae. Layer the outlines over the stenciled butterflies and secure them with the antennae.
Attach iridescent blue sequins...as you 'might' have noticed, I love sequins and use them whenever possible!
Special thanks to everyone who took the Fabulous Five Cards class at Impress yesterday. Hope you enjoyed working with the different machines, plates, mats, dies, stencils and inks - and can use the techniques with your equally fabulous stash of great Memory Box and Poppystamps products.
Thanks for dropping by this weekend...visit our Ideas Gallery for more designs!

Jean,
I love your card, you always seem to use my favorite colors. The new collection is gorgeous, I truly want it all. Love the muted background, gives the butterflies a floating feel.

Thanks for your comments. Having these great products makes it easy to get started - and everything just sort of designs itself after that!
