Hi…Simply Stated
Hi - hope you're enjoying the weekend! Jean Okimoto here, with a quick project today.
- Garden Umbel Designer Stencil 88512
- Disperse Designer Stencil 88507
- Worn Out Designer Stencil 88501
- Parchment Cardstock (top-folded A2 card)
- Craft Mat
- Spectrum Kaleidacolor Inkpad
- Olive Grove, Pistachio and Lilac Posies Memento Luxe Inkpads
- Pearlescent Olive Brilliance Inkpad
- Iridescent Embossing Powder
Spritz watercolor paper lightly with water. Temporarily place the center of the Craft Mat near the edge of your worktop so a portion of it drapes down over the side - this allows you to press the Kaleidacolor Inkpad onto the mat without bumping into the little white lever on the left. (sounds crazy, but trust me, it works!)
Press the Spectrum inks onto the Craft Mat. Lay the Craft Mat flat again, and spritz the multicolored inks with water - and wait a few seconds for the colors to start blending. Press the watercolor paper onto the inks and carefully lift it up. Air-dry the inks for a few minutes - then dry them with a dry iron on the cotton setting.
Stencil the Umbel with Pistachio, Olive Grove and Lilac Posies and dry the inks. Lightly stencil Disperse along the bottom with Pearlescent Olive and dry the ink. Stencil "hi" from Worn Out with Olive Grove and emboss it with Iridescent Powder. It's so nice to have "h" and "i" together in the alphabet.
Trim the cardstock, round the top edges. Ink the edges with Pearlescent Olive. Add gold sequins.
BIG THANKS to everyone who took yesterday's Asian Express and Best of Memory Box and Poppystamps classses at the Tukwila Impress. It was great seeing all of you again ! Special THANKS too - to Stacia, Shahana and Erin - for your help in setting up and running around the huge store to find the Memory Box and Poppystamps products everyone wanted to buy.
And that's it for today...be sure to visit Outside the Box throughout the week - our Designer Stencil Blitz begins tomorrow! Lots of ideas, designs, techniques - including special tips for dry-embossing with our Designer Stencils.
