Glitter Butterflies
I was feeling the need for a bright sparkly card, so I thought the best way to do that was with a butterfly die and some glitter.
To make this card, I first cut out the Blissful Butterfly Border (98878) using white paper:
Next, I colored the butterfly bodies with Copic markers and embossed the butterfly outline with some Versamark ink and some gold embossing powder:
I ran the butterly bodies through a Xyron Sticker machine to make them sticky and then coated them with some Rock Candy Distress glitter. Next, I glued the outline and the glittered butterfly bodies to some acetate:
As you can see from the picture, I cut out a part of the front of my card and then glued the acetate strip in place so that you can see through the "window" to the inside of the card. I posted a side view at the top of this post so that you could see how the acetate adds a little interest to the front of the card.
Here is one more pict to see what the card looks like when it is closed:
To finish the card, I added a few pearls.
I hope everyone has a great Thursday!
Absolutely beautiful card!

Lisa, I have seen them sold at online art supply stores, and I have heard that you can get them at Hobby Lobby and JoAnn's. Office Depot or Max has sheets, but you usually have to buy a large box. If you know teacher with an old box of overhead transparencies, they work great. Hope this helps!

Wow, just love it. Some of the cards I see here on facebook are so involved, which I do, BUT I have more time to try these types of cards and can get more done.

Amazing, butterfly card! I love the acetate window with the gorgeous glittered butterflies. The acetate window has so many creative possibilities, I could stamp on the back of the acetate with stazon ink, it could be embossed with an embossing folder, or stenciled with modelling paste. So many ideas are whirling and swirling through my head! Thank you for sharing this gorgeous, creatively inspiring card!
