Honey Comb
Happy Easter/Resurrection Sunday to everyone who celebrates this day and a happy Sunday to all. I hope you're having an awesome weekend.
A big thank you to all of the amazing and talented participants in yesterday's Memory Box classes held at Simple Pleasures! I hope you'll be joining us for July's classes which will be all about Christmas in July!!
So onto today's card. I had fun playing around with another stencil...this time Honey Comb (88521) was the lucky winner.
I pulled out some Distress Inks to create a kaleidescope of colors. I used watercolor paper for this project as I wanted the paper to hold more water than regular cardstock to help meld the colors together. I used versamark on the stencil and then with the watercolor paper ran it through the big shot to create dimension. I then embossed the paper with clear embossing powder.
I then blended the distressed inks with the foaming pad and sprayed the pad with water to help blend the colors (and lighten them).
The other products used:
Lunette Butterfly 98745
Stamp: Very Happy Hello Combo B1913
Thanks for stopping by today!!
A beautiful card!! Very pretty.

I don't understand what you did. Sorry.
Did you ink the stencil, put it on the paper, and then run stencil and paper through the Big Shot?

Very pretty! I never thought of inking a stencil with VersaMark and then embossing it! What a great technique!

Vonda...yes, ink the stencil with versa Mark , put it on the paper and then run both through big shot

Beautiful card! The colours you have used are very springy! Thank you for sharing the embossing technique with the versa mark and the sizzix machine with the stencil. This is a new technique for me, I will try it in the future. Great idea! Thank you for sharing today!

Like a few others, I'm a little confused as to the steps taken. I understand that you
1. inked the stencil with versamark.
2. with the stencil in place, versamark side facing down, you ran it through the bigshot
3. Did you put clear embossing powder onto the versamarked areas on the card and then heat-set?
I don't understand the following step:
4. "I then blended the distressed inks with the foaming pad and sprayed the pad with water to help blend the colors (and lighten them)."
What is a foaming pad?
Thank you so much!

Lovely card and like everyone else, I love the background you created. Can you possibly do a few photos of the process or a short video - not the versamark/stencil, but the the "foaming pad". I also have no idea what that is or how to use it.
