Happy Birthday!

I don't know about you, but I am always looking for birthday card ideas.  I think I make more birthday cards than anything else.  When I saw the Happy Cloud (98893) and the Birthday Cloud (98897), I had all kinds of ideas running through my head.  My first thought was to pair them with a hotair baloon, but once I added the rainbow, there wasn't really any room left.

To make the rainbow, I used part of the new Radio Waves stencil (88538) and masked off the rest.  Next, I airbrushed with with Copic markers (R29, YR04, Y06, B04, V17) to make a rainbow.  You could just as easily use ink pads and sponges to get the same effect.

To finish the card, I added some Clear Wink of Stella glitter to the clouds to make them sparkle.  I have a hard time photographing glitter, but here is a close up that might help:

When you cut out the clouds with their words, the letters become separate from the cloud.  I took out my words, colored them with a B69 Copic Marker, and then glued them back into the clouds.  The cloud words are very versitile because you could use just the words without the clouds around them.  Here are what the words look like by themselves.  I laid them down on a standard A2 card so you could see the size better:

Don't forget to leave a comment to this post for a chance to win both of the cloud dies!  Every blog post this week will have a chance to win a prize.  The deadline for submitting comments is 10:00pm EST on Sunday, March 30th.  Winners will be announced on the Outside the Box blog on Monday, March 31st.  Good luck!

Great idea to color the words instead of using another piece of paper! I'll now be seeing what color changes there will be on different colored papers. :)

I've looked at clouds from both sides now ... it's life's illusions I recall ... I really don't know clouds ... at all ... oh, but you gotta LOVE these cloud dies!!!

What a "happy" Birthday card! Die cutting the words out of the clouds and then coloring them is a great idea!

Petite devinette:
Quoi de mieux qu'un arc-en-ciel pour souhaiter un bon anniversaire?
deux nuages qui passent agrémentés d'un happy birthday

This card might have a learning curve for me with all of the steps, but I love the idea of a rainbow stencil.

Love the word clouds and rainbow! Cheery card!

Love that you can use the words with or without the clouds. It's like getting two for one!

I really like the happy birthday in the clouds. You can leave the word in the clouds or take them out as you did. Nice cards. Would love to have both of those dies.

Great card! Love the rainbow and the shimmer on the clouds. Thanks for sharing.

Love the rainbow! And the Happy Birthday clouds look to be quite useful.

First let me say how much I LOVE this fun card!! I love rainbows and the Radio Waves stencil is now on my wish list!
I love how versatile these cloud dies are!! The words being used separately is a cool feature! I always try to buy items that I can use in numerous ways and these dies certainly qualify in that respect! You could use the clouds in layers so that the words don't show and add depth at the same time!!
Oh my, the ideas are racing around inside my head on the multitude of ways these dies can be used! I could go on for a couple pages with my ideas but will stop for now and cross my fingers!! Thanks for the chance to win them!
