A Very Happy Hello to You

Greetings and Salutations!

Today's card features the Precious Daisies die from our latest release. Each one of these daisies had a stem with a bow at the bottom, but I didn't need them for this card, so I just did a little snipping... and voila! - stand-alone daisies!

I love a versatile die, don't you?

Trio of Precious Daisies

P1150933

Hi - Jean Okimoto here - with a quick card idea for you.  The popular Precious Daisies die from the 2014 Creative Elegance Collection cuts and embosses the petals - so they'll look great when stenciled in fresh spring shades of ColorBox Shabby Pink, Sweet Melon and Canary Pigment Inks.  Leave the diecut in the die, then use the die as a stencil to add the pretty colors.  What could be easier than that?

The bold Grand Thank You Die balances the bright flowers with a border of Key Lime Cardstock. Instead of matching the notecard with a Dove Gray Envelope - tuck it into a Key Lime Envelope for a fresh pop of color!

Memory Box Products

  • Metal Adapter Plate
  • Precious Daisies Die 98813
  • Grand Thank You Die
  • Key Lime Cardstock
  • Dove Gray Notecard
  • Key Lime Envelope

Thanks for stopping by...hope to see you again later today when I share another project.

One Layer All-Occasion Cards

Just a quick post today...one layer cards for all occasions.

Materials Used

  • Memory Box Texture Disperse Designer Stencil No. 88507
  • Memory Box stamp E1850 Leafy Branch Globe
  • Memory Box Texture Diamond Designer Stencil No. 88522
  • Memory Box stamp D1841 Drift Flowers
  • Hero Arts Inks--Black, Green Hills, Butter Bar, Bubblegum, Raspberry Jam

I used painters tape to make the ink transfer lines on each card.  This is a technique I learned from Roni Johnson on her Ink Stains blog.  Just rub your strip of tape over the top of the ink pad, pressing down to get enough ink on the tape, put the tape on the card front and press down to transfer the ink, and lift up the tape to see your inked line.  Expect to get inky fingers!

When I need a card in a hurry, I can grab one of these, add an appropriate stamped sentiment, and send it off.  I've been trying to do more simple one layer cards like this using the new stencils to add interesting backgrounds.  I've now got quite a few cards using a variety of images and ink colors, ready for that last minute stamping before mailing.  No extra postage needed for these cards!

Happy Crafting!

Simple Pleasures Exclusive Stamps and Dies {Carnation and Phlox}

We have been happy to collaborate once again on a set of exclusive products with Cathy at Simple Pleasures in Colorado Springs, CO!

This year - (launching today!) - we have designed two new floral stamps and matching cutting dies!

  Phloxcarnation

These dies cut out the new Phlox and Carnation stamps - the Simple Phlox stamp (C1981) has a matching bloom mounted on the side of the stamp and the Simple Phlox die set (C105) cuts out the stem, the matching bloom and even an extra petal. We designed the Simple Carnation stamp (C1980) the same way - the matching die set (C104) cuts out the stem, a matching petal and an extra loose petal.

This is a really fun set to play with - and Simple Pleasures is launching them today!

Carnationandphloxstamps

These designs are only available through Simple Pleasures, and there are only a limited number available - call for details (719 528 1338) to order them or email [email protected] !

When the skies give you snow, make flowers!

IMG_9293

We have had way to much snow here in Pennsylvania. I am soooooo done with it. All I want is sunny skies and flowers. How about all of you? I don't think I am alone here. Even the south has been pummeled with cold yucky weather.

So what do you do when the skies give you snow? You make flowers! That's what  did with this winter stamp from Dave- snowfall CS 1961E.

A20791c1407a7e6e618c68_m

Can you see what I am talking about? Those snowflakes made perfect flowers. I love it when you can get double duty out of a stamp, don't you?

I used the Shine stencil to add the sunshine to the card using the technique I showed on this blog posting.

A2079171435b86b59fb6f4_m

I used the same technique with a clean stencil to emboss the background sun shine.

I sure would love to see what stamps you all have that can do double duty.

So once again, when the skies give you snow, make flowers!

Put a Butterfly On It

P1150706

Brighten a winter day with a card - and put a butterfly on it to make it seem a little warmer, a little sunnier.  Jean Okimoto here, with an easy washi tape-inspired card for you.

The three versatile Memory Box Washi Tape Stamps are featured here - Washi Tape Dots and Washi Tape Lines create a backdrop for the Lunette Butterfly diecut.   The Lunette Butterfly die is from the 2014 Creative Elegance Collection.

The classic washi tape patterns look good in any color and works for all occasions.  A partially-masked strip of Washi Tape Solid stamped with ColorBox Mermaid Archival Dye Ink becomes a great shadow background for the Just Thinking of You greeting.

Please visit our Ideas Gallery for instructions for this card, more designs and inspiration.

Thanks for visiting...I'll be back later today with another washi-style card ...
