Pinecones & Peace

Hi, everyone...  Well, we've received our first dose of snow here in the midwest...It was pretty coming down, but I'm not sure I'm quite ready to deal with snow and ice already.

Today, I'm featuring one of my favorite dies from this collection called Pinecone Corner (98685) and the Peace Script die (98638).

   Pinecone Peace

  • Cut a piece of silver metallic paper 3 7/8" X 5 1/8" and adhere to a piece of Licorice paper (4 X 5 1/4) then attach to front of a Holly Berry Note Card.
  • Die cut two sets of the Pinecone Border from Dill Paper; one set from Vanilla Bean (just the pinecones); and one of the pinecones from Rich Cocoa.
  • Add a bit of glue here and there behind one set of the branches and attach to the top left corner of the silver metallic paper.
  • Cut the Vanilla Bean (dark brown) pine cones away from any excess brown branches.  Use a finger dauber to distress the edges of the pinecones with Brushed Corduroy distress ink and glue these over the “green” pinecones on your card.
  • Cut branches of the other Pinecone Border and attach over the previous branches to fill it out a bit.
  • Cut the Rich Cocoa (Light Brown) pinecone away from the branches, distress with Brushed Corduroy and attach to card front.
  • I dyed some seam binding ribbon with Festive Berries and Walnut Stain distress ink.  I tied it into a double bow and attached it to the front of the card with a couple of large glue dots.
  • Die cut Peace Script from the strip of Licorice paper.  Run through Xyron X.  Run a stylus around the edges of the word to make sure all the adhesive sticks, then attach to front of card.
  • Finally, I added Frosted Lace Stickles to some of the branches and pinecones.

I hope you enjoy and are inspired to create your own holiday cards using Memory Box products!
