A return to stamping

IMG_8523

Wow, I was totally overwhelmed by your response to my return as well as my focus on all things stamping. I was glad to see I was not alone in my love of rubber and ink! Thank you all!

Today's card features a clean and simple style that I have developed over the past year or so. So what exactly is CAS (clean and simple) stamping? For me it meant getting rid of the multiple layers I was prone to use on my cards. I did a bit of research to fully explain it to you.

CAS stamping means one main image as the focus, lots of open space, limited layers and embellishments. Some say it should be quick to make. If you are like me, the initial card isn't always quick to develop. Even the easiest of cards can take some time to come together, but once done the card should be easy to recreate.

Let's break this CAS card down:

The main image features "Deer in the Field" CS1944. This time I kept it together the way Dave designed it. After it was stamped I added some stickles glitter glue. I had limited layers by layering the focal point onto the Memory Box gingham paper and then adding this to my kraft base. I had one embellishment using the star die with glitter paper. I added the saying and presto- a CAS holiday card that is easy to recreate.

It is just that simple.

I hoped you enjoyed and are inspired to create your own CAS stamped card.

Keep up the CAS - really find them very refreshing.

I much prefer the CAS style over the very embellished. Just my personal opinion, not a criticism of others. Love this one!

a beautiful holiday card and i love the kraft! i'm glad you said, "some say it should be quick to make" because i always make a distinction between CAS and QAE (quick and easy). sometimes an image can take me hours to colour, but i can still make a CAS card with it.

Love it! TFS

I use the CAS style a lot in my card making and I agree that designing a CAS card isn't quick!! Glad you are back to focusing on stamping and I love this card. I also love anything Memory Box and own many MB stamps, dies and paper.

I'm with you CAS is the way to go. Can get a lot more cards done going that direction. I am enjoying your beautiful cards.
