Texture and dimension can take a card from ordinary to special. Jean Okimoto here, with a quick - and classic - holiday card for you.

The Poppystamps Blooming Poinsettia Die 861 cuts and embosses the finely-detailed texture of a perfect blossom on velvet paper.  The leaves, cut from Dill Cardstock, are embossed too.  The center is cut from gold mirror cardstock.  Dave's attention to details makes this die set a winner and a must-have for holiday cards, tags and layouts.

A Birthday Card

Hello all! Sometime ago I used this paper for a Christmas card as it has "winter" print but this time I decided to try it for a birthday card. I used handmade flowers, MB dies and stamps. The green&red print on the paper help the decotarion match the paper even better.

Boo Banner!

Whether you decorate for Halloween alot or a little, this banner adds something special to the occasion. This BOO banner is just the right size to hang in a small window or on a door--it's small, just 15" across the top.

BOO Banner

Each pennant was cut from a 5" x 5" square of "Sleepy Hollow" Memory Box Paper. I love the vibrant orange color with the branches, birds and bats!  I used dies, flowers, buttons, glitter and ribbon to "gussie up" this banner to hang in my craft studio.  Whenever I use the little ghosts, they make me happy--don't you just love their expressions?--cute, not scary.

I used the Blooming Rosette die to create the polka dot trim around all the edges.  Sometimes the pattern did not make a perfect corner, so to fix it, just add a flower or buttons--no one will know what is underneath, right?

Spooky Halloween at The Manor

This card features the Manor House.  I've been making cards all week that are little scenes.  Once I decided that Halloween would be the theme for this one, I pulled out all of the dies that I thought might work.  I decided to use the Delicate Web in the upper right corner as a sort of sun.  I chose the Wrought Iron Fence to echo the lines in the web.  The Antique Lamp Post and the Sitting Cat anchor the left lower corner of the card, balancing the web. A Flying Bird and a few grey clouds pop against the orange-y background and further define the sky.  The sentiment is centered in the space below the front door of the Manor House.

Web card
MATERIALS USED

  • White Notecard oriented to open at the bottom
  • Dusk 12X12 paper from the Nightfall collection. cut to fit the front of the card and a scrap used for the sentiment
  • Blackbird 12X12 from the Nightfall collection, used for the Manor House and the clouds
  • Black cardstock for the web, lamp post, fence pieces, cat, flying bird, the interior of the Manor House, and to back the sentiment

STAMP

  • Spooky Halloween B1807 stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink

DIES

  • Delicate Web 98706
  • Manor House 98705
  • Puffy Clouds 98172
  • Flying Birds 98655
  • Wrought Iron Fence 98164
  • Antique Lamp Post 858 from PoppyStamps
  • Small Sitting Cat 860 from PoppyStamps

Have you used the Manor House for any of your Halloween projects?  I love that the door opens--think I'll write a tiny "Boo" inside the door with my white pen. And because I always try to bring some element of the card design to the inside of the card, another Delicate Web, a Curious Cat, or a Leaping Cat might be just the thing to finish this card.

Happy Crafting!
