Snow Place Like Home

Ready to cool off?  Today I'd like to share this snowy scene using new stamps and dies from Memory Box's Merry & Bright Collection.  What a nice change from our current heat wave, wouldn't you say?

This vignette is waaay different than my hometown scenery--we don't get snow or deer unless we head up to Julian or the Cuyamacas.  I envy those who live in neighborhoods like this.

Snow Place LIke Home

This snowy scene is brought to you by...

This card measures 5.5 x 5.5 beginning with a crimson folded note card, then white and dove grey layers cut progressively smaller by 1/8".

I added translucent glitter to the bare trees and rooftop for snow and embossed the small snowflakes with white embossing powder on the grey panel.  On a small white scrap, stamp the deer family, emboss the snowflakes and sponge navy blue ink from the edges toward the center.  I like this effect as it seems to highlight the baby deer and the embossed snowflakes resist ink.

The blue snowflakes in the upper corner are raised and bejeweled.  I had to cut off the bow and string in order to fit on this card but take a look at the coordinating tag showing off those delicate bows.

All that's left is to add the sentiment in a festive red ink!

Hope you're feeling inspired and are making a long "wish list" based on the our posts this week and next. I love it when we have a Blog Blitz!
