Whimsical Flower
I was so excited to see how many stamps Dave created for this new release. I'm a stamper at heart, so I've had a ball designing cards.
For today's card, I decided to work with the Whimsical Flower. I knew immediately what technique I wanted to try. My friend, Carla, taught me this trick. I hope you enjoy!
Instructions:
- Cover piece of white paper with Be Creative Tape (SookWang). Trim around tape. Remove protective covering from tape and cover entire piece with Glitter Ritz clear glitter. Place protective cover back over the glitter and rub to make sure the glitter adheres. Remove the protective cover then rub with fingertip.
- Ink up Whimsical Flower stamp with Archival Black ink and stamp on top of glitter piece and allow to dry.
- Using a water pen, brush the tip against a yellow watercolor pencil then use water pen to color the center of the flower out toward the end of the petal. Do this for all petals. Clean brush on a paper towel. Now, brush the tip of awater pen against fuchsia watercolor pencil and color flowers from the edge of the petal to the center of the flower. The two colors should blend together.
- Use the green watercolor pencil direct to the stem to color. Can moisten the tip with a bit of water to help.
- Adhere the stamped image to a piece of Licorice paper and set aside.
- Attach flower print paper from the Pixie 6 X 6 paper pack to the top part of larger piece of Licorice paper and adhere the Currant Distress Dots paper to the lower portion. Cover the seam with a piece of Sage paper. Attach this piece to front of Parchment Note Card.
- Cut a small piece of Sage paper with the new Fleur de lis die and attach to the top left of the stamped image. Then, use foam tape to add this piece to the front of your card.
I'm not sure if you can see the sparkle from the glitter, but its really beautiful.
Remember....we'll be blogging twice a day this week showing you our designs using the new stamps from Memory Box! Be sure to leave us comments for each post to have a chance to win one of the new stamps!
Great card, so versatile. I love the whimsical flower.

Thanks for the great technique! Very cute. I love glitter and I do a variation of it by using Peel-Off stickers on the glitter and colouring with markers and blending with a waterbrush.

I attended this class at "A Small Cleverness" in Orange Park, Fl on 4/20. This card was one that Linda had us make. It is beautiful! She is very knowledgable
about the "Memory Box" products and very helpfull and pleasant in teaching the classes.
Thanks Linda
