Valentine Shadow Box
As I write this post on Friday it's snowing heavily outside. I figured I had better get this post done today (even though it won't go up on the site until Monday) just in case we lose the power! We're experiencing a blizzard this weekend in Maine anticipating two feet of snow by Sunday morning which gives me the perfect stay-at-home-and-craft excuse for creating valentines in my workroom! I started by making this card:
It didn't feel like "enough". As I looked around my workroom I spotted a small 7 Gypsies shadow box (about $10 at Michaels). With a little trimming the card became the focal image and this valentine shadow box came together quite quickly. It will make a great home decor piece for its intended recipients.
- Shadow Box: 7 Gypsies (about $10 at Michaels)
- large panel: red gingham check paper; Garnet notecard; Neenah White cardstock; F1901 Gingham Heart stamp; B1906 Filled with love (heart on the end) stamp; Archival Vermillion ink; D1905 Herringbone Flourish stamp; A and J stamps, source unknown; Archival Jet Black ink
- bottom left panel: red gingham check paper; 98504 Blooming Violet die; PoppyStamps 872 Curious Cat die; scraps of red, green, and black cardstocks
- bottom center panel: Neenah White cardstock scrap; E1903 In the Woods stamp; Archival Sepia ink; clear embossing powder; heart from the end of B1906 Filled with love stamp
- bottom right panel: red gingham check paper; leaves from 98511 Fabulous Phlox die; green cardstock scrap; 98527 Resting Birds die; red cardstock scrap; PoppyStamps 872 Curious Cat (reversed) die; black cardstock scrap
- red/cream gingham ribbon tied around the outside of the shadow box and secured with tape runner and glue dots
Hope that you are carving out some creative time for yourself and that you are getting those valentines out in the mail ASAP.
Happy Crafting!

Anne, very nice

Wow, you guys got hammered with snow. In Maryland, we had none! I have been giving my family (in Mass.) a hard time! Great shadow box and really is a good showcase for your project.
