A winter scrapbook page with a new alphabet die!

Hello everyone,

I am an avid scrap booker and was very excited to see the new alphabets in the latest release.  There are four new alphabets that are larger that those in previous releases.  Check them out here.  The project I am sharing is a scrapbook page that I made using the Large Classic alphabet (#98435, #98436, #98437) and several snow related dies.  It's snowy and pretty here in New England and these dies were calling me.  The photo is a picture I took of my son on Christmas day after all of the presents and stockings were opened, breakfast was enjoyed and cleaned up and it was time to relax until company arrived later that evening. One of the rare moments like this during the busy holiday season.  You can see the Frosty Border die (#98171) cut out of white card stock used as accents on the layout.

Here is a close up of the alphabet.  I cut the letters from the red snowflake paper and shadowed them by cutting the letters again from black card stock and adhering the black letters slightly askew behind the red letters.  This helps the letters pop and stand out better on the layout.

I also used the Tivoli snowflake die (#98163) and the Crystal snowflake die (#98397).  I cut them out and let the background paper peek through.  They look pretty layered together giving the page some dimension.
PeaceAndQuiet3
I used the pocket gift tag die (#98347) to cut the hidden journaling tag from scrapbook paper that slides out from behind the picture.

The red and white striped washi tape gives the layout a holiday feel.

Thanks for stopping by.  You are in for a treat this week.  Stop by often.  The design team will be sharing projects all week using the dies and stamps from the new release.

Beautiful page. I love the alphabet you used. :D

Nice to see an actual scrap layout. Love the care you took layering the snowflakes, and shadowing the letters. Use of the white-on-white border is a clever touch.
