The Great Pumpkin has Arrived

I hope everyone enjoyed the looonnnnggg weekend.  It was so nice.  Because it rained all weekend, I didn't feel the least bit guilty about "playing" in my stamp room all weekend.  Such creative fun!

Here's one of the cards I came up with...

Great Pumpkin-Copics

  1. Stamp Great Pumpkin with Rich Cocoa Memento ink onto white Neenah cardstock. Color with medium of your choice.  I used Copics YR14, YR16, YR18 and Y19 for the pumpkin and YG95, YG97, and YG99 for the stem.
  2. Die cut Great Pumpkin with matching die.
  3. Ink up Happy Fall stamp and stamp toward the right side of a small piece of Parchment card stock.  Trim the left end to make a small tag and punch a 1/16” hole in the end.  Distress with Antique Linen Distress Ink. Fold Linen Thread in half and thread through the little tag from front to back and loop around.  Leave ends loose and set aside.
  4. Place Dill paper into embossing folder with the colored side facing the “Sizzix” logo and run through Big Shot.  Sand this piece to give it a distressed look.   Distress with Antique Linen Distress Ink using ink blending tool and foam.  Adhere to corresponding Vanilla Bean paper.
  5. Wrap brown gingham around the dill piece.  Tie in a square knot on the left side, but before you tie it tight, lay one of the ends of the Linen Thread from the tag through the knot.  Then tie ribbon tight.  Don’t tie the end of the Linen Thread yet.  We’ll do that last. Adhere this piece to Jack O’Lantern Note Card
  6. Adhere small piece of Dusk paper to corresponding Vanilla Bean paper.  Add to the front of card.
  7. Add Great Pumpkin to card with foam tape.
  8. Tape down tag in the spot you want, and then tie up the loose ends.
  9. Die cut small piece of Dill Paper with Tiny Tendril die and add a bit of Antique Linen Distress Ink.
  10. Add Tiny Tendril to the top of the pumpkin.

This is one of the cards I'll be teaching at Scrapadoodle in Peoria, Illinois on September 30. I'll also be teaching this card at A Small Cleverness in Orange Park, Florida on October 12 and 13.  Perhaps I'll see you there....
