Halloween Shadow Box

When I found 7 Gypsies Solo Shadow Box Trays in white and in black on sale for 40% off at my local Michaels store, I bought all they had in stock!  These cute little trays are 6 1/2 X 6 5/8 X 7/8 with one large 4X6-ish space and three small 2X2-ish spaces to fill.  My son loves to decorate his apartment for Halloween and I've made him displays in the larger 7 Gypsies trays before.  I made this one up in a couple of hours at the most and sent it off to California last week. This was such a fun size to work with!

  • Blackbird 6X6 paper collection
  • Archival Jet Black Ink
  • Stamp--Moonlight Woods F1885
  • Die--Puffy Clouds 98172
  • Die--Meadow Bird 98339
  • Die--Grove Branch 98311
  • Die--Country House 98165
  • PoppyStamps Die--Mini Picket Border 838
  • Memory Box Jewel Stickers
  • Halloween Banner sticker from K&Company
  • Cat and Witch stickers from Recollections
  • additional paper--scraps of black and Memory Box Squash Gingham
  • Pop dots, Glue Dots, tape runner

  • Cut background papers from the Blackbird 6X6 papers and adhere to the box.
  • Stamp the Moonlight Woods F1885 on the same background paper to get that nice orange moon. Cut to edges of stamped image.  Adhere to black card stock and trim close. Adhere to background paper in shadow box, matching up at least one tree branch.
  • Die cut the Country House 98165 from another piece of the Blackbird paper.  Mount on Squash Gingham and trim close to the outline of the house.  Open the doors and windows a bit. Mount on black cardstock and trim close.  Pop dot onto background to the right of the Moonlight Woods image.
  • Add black cat sticker in lower left of that panel and add flying witch sticker in the upper right. Die cut Puffy Clouds 98172, adhering the smaller ones flat and pop dot the largest cloud under the witch and overlapping the moon.
  •  Die cut the PoppyStamps Mini Picket Border 838 from black cardstock and adhere to the outside of the frame in front of the house.  I added the letters A and C, my son's initials, to the ends of the fence and used the Halloween Banner over the top edge of that scene.
  • Die cut the Meadow Bird three times from black cardstock.  Add a tiny black jewel for an eye on each one and pop dot each into the three tiny boxes.
  • Die cut three of the Grove Branch 98311 and adhere them to the frame over each of the bird boxes.  Add three jewels to the end of each branch.

I actually made another shadow box today as well.  They go together quite quickly!  I have so many ideas now for the ones I want to do for Christmas presents!  And I'm pretty sure that the Your Maine Stamper regulars will want to make one in class on October 8th. I can't wait for another crafting day!!!

Happy Crafting!
