Pumpkin Coasters

Did you know that you can use your Memory Box dies on materials other than paper?  They work beautifully on felt!

I found the Great Pumpkin die and coordinating stamp to be the perfect size for coasters.

Just die cut these pieces from various Fall colored felt.  Be sure to cut 2 of the pumpkins to give the coasters a nice double thickness for drinks.

I used black tailors chalk on the top layer of felt with the Great Pumpkin stamp.  Just lay the felt over the "sunny side up" stamp and gently rub the chalk on the raised detail.

Sew a simple "running stitch" along the chalk lines and on the leaves to show off their detail.

Layer the stitched pumpin atop the second plain one and join together using a blanket stitch around all edges.

Brush away the chalk lines.  You may need to rub the last traces of chalk away with a scrap piece of felt or use an iron to disolve any residue.

Tack on the leaves with just a few stitches and glue on the pumpkin stem in a contrasting color.

Supplies Used:

Great Pumpkin Die #98423

Great Pumpkin Stamp G1882

Fresh Leaves Die #98406

Swooping Bats Die #98409

Gothic Halloween Stamp B1872

Bundle several coasters together and give the set as a gift!

When the weather turns chilly (hopefully soon) these coasters will come in handy with some cocoa and marshmallows.
