Falling Leaves

Fall
With all the heat we've had this summer, it's hard to imagine that fall is just around the corner.  But the "back to school" ads on the television indicate that fall really is almost here!  To celebrate (can you tell I have children???), I made this shiny Fall card featuring the Parker Alphabet die sets (both upper and lower case) and the Autumn Trees stamp.

I stamped the image on Parchment card stock with Rich Cocoa Memento ink.  I then used a Versamark pen to randomly apply embossing ink to the leaves of the trees.  I sprinkled Sticky Stuff embossing powder over the ink and heated with the Ranger Heat It embossing gun (this gun heats at a slightly lower temperature than a Marvy or Milwaukee heat gun, and you want to avoid over heating the powder or it won't be sticky.  I sprinkled green glitter over the embossing powder and patted it with my finger to be sure it fully adhered.  I brushed off the excess with a Sparkle Sweeper brush.

Fall supplies
I then repeated the process - applying Versamark ink randomly over the leaves, including the leaves in the air and on the ground.  I sprinkled with Sticky Stuff embossing powder, heated and then sprinkled with Copper glitter.  I prefer this method to using 2-way glue or a Quickie Glue Pen because the Sticky Stuff holds the glitter better.  This means less contamination to your glitter when you're using more than one color.  A savings!!!  I finished the card by cutting out the word Fall from Distressed Dots card stock and adhering to the bottom.  This card is good for either a man or woman - especially since the glitter won't come off and get all over the place!  Enjoy!!

You captured the colors and feel for the season perfectly.

Very creative! I know the photo doesn't do this beauty justice!

I own all these things except for the dies and I wouldn't think to ever use as leafs on the trees like this!!! Very GREAT IDEA that I will try soon!!! Thanks

Pretty and you shared a lot of great tips, too!

Beautiful! Unisex cards are always good to keep on hand, and I like thatsubtle, well stuck on glitter!

Lovely card. Thanks for the tip on using the sticky stuff, I have had little success so far which I guess is due to overheating the powder. I may need another heat gun !

This is so beautiful. TFS
Hugs,
Trish

Great card! Thanks for the tips & tricks. ;-)

Beautiful colours Angela, I'm really looking forward to fall this year, after an unusually long and hot summer. Didn't know about the differences between the heat guns, so thanks for that.

Love the tip on the sticky stuff. Was never quite sure how to use it. Love the card.

Thanks for your ideas...I can feel the cool air and appreciate the sense of falling leaves. With an October birthday, it's not surprising that I love fall!

Very pretty card ... I love the new alphabet dies.

I'm smelling apple pie:)
Thanks for the tips!

Oh the joy of fall! I love it. TFS AJ-
