Glittery Delicate Fern

I've been wanting to try this technique for a long time and just love, love, love the results!   I first saw this technique done by one of the former MB Design Team members, Debbie Fitch.  You can see her original post here.

For this technique we're using Glitter Ritz Glitter.  It's very fine and smooth and feels like velvet when applied to your card.    Here's what I designed using this technique.

I wish the glittery-ness showed up better.  It's simply stunning!

Instructions:

  1. Cut Sookwang tape 5 ¼” X 3 ½” and attach to white card stock (5 ½ X 4)  Save protective sheet.
  2. Die Cut this piece using Debutante Frame die cut.
  3. Trim to 3”
  4. Use the protective sheet that you peeled off the Sookwang tape to die cut the Delicate Fern.
  5. Peel off other protective sheet from Sookwang tape to reveal the sticky side.
  6. Carefully lay the fern you die cut from the protective sheet down on the sticky side and make sure it is completely adhered.  I used the protective liner to cover and then pushed down on it.
  7. Add Sky Blue Glitter Ritz glitter and use the liner to burnish the glitter into the sticker.
  8. Use tweezers to peel off fern mask and then add Kiwi Green Glitter Ritz glitter and burnish again.  Set aside.
  9. Attach Cottage Flower paper to Licorice paper and attach to front of Lavender Note Card.
  10. Attach Delicate Fern piece to front of card.
  11. Stamp sentiment with black ink onto white card stock and adhere to Lavender card stock then attach to front of card using foam tape.

Comments

I love this technique and have used it often. I actually discovered you can stamp directly onto the glitter, too. I just made sure I had burnished it in really well and brushed off all the excess glitter before stamping. Yesterday, I cut some Memory Box dies using a mirrored gold cardstock and it was so pretty....it looked like metal....will be great for Christmas cards. MB dies and stamps are my favorite. Looking forward to the new holiday release....Thanks for all your inspiration.
