Celebrating National Scrapbook Day May 5th

Saturday May 5th was National Scrapbook Day. On Saturday morning I took many of my small scrapbooks to Your Maine Stamper for display and hosted a free mini scrapbook pages workshop featuring Memory Box dies. I like to scrapbook in a small format and use 6X6 predominantly. These are just a sample of the pages created in the workshop.

I photocopied onto cardstock photos from my Instant Relatives Collection--these are photos I buy in lots at auction of other people's relatives to use in collages primarily.  Everyone chose one or more as focal images for their pages. We used the Vaudeville Frame 98298 die around the larger focal image.  The Cupid Heart 98281 provided the perfect piece for adding a three dimensional floral accent. Roses were fussy cut from a piece of 12X12 decorative paper and a pop-dotted glitter butterfly sticker added some glitz.  Stamped and layered roses using Gorgeous Mini Bloom B1761 and Gorgeous Bloom E1760 and any of the die cut flowers, butterflies, or dragonflies from Memory Box/PoppyStamps could also add dimension and interest to a page.

The central images for these two pages came from Google Images, printed out on cardstock. Tina was thrilled to use them because she said she looked just like this as a child! The bottom of each page features the Spring Border 98115. We had fun placing multiple umbrellas--Petite Umbrella 98296--on each page. The clouds were fussy cut from 12X12 paper but we could have used the Puffy Clouds 98172 die.

Think about ways to use dies on your scrapbook pages to enhance a central image and add dimension and interest.  And think about working small!

Happy Crafting!
