Poppy Silhouette
No doubt about it, I have so much fun working with the new Memory Box stamps, papers and dies. I love combining different dies when designing cards. Some dies obviously go together so I try to challenge myself to mix it up and think "Outside the Box". Here's my latest card using all three elements in ways that are unusual for me.
Black flowers? New for me but I love them...they're so dramatic!
- Starting with the new slate notecards, trim 1" off the front. Adhere a soft yellow panel, stamped with the Mercer Rose Background (G1842) in gray ink, onto the inside right edge. Add a 1/8" strip of black paper alongside the panel.
- Using the Cornerstone Seal die (#98293) cut one from Polka Polka paper (#10153) and another from Sweet Corn cardstock (#44042). Snip the connecting paper to separate the centers from the outstide zig-zag borders. Stamp Mercer Rose background onto the yellow circle; Place the outside zig zag border from the Polka Polka paper together on the base card.
- Cut the Prim Poppy (#98310) from black licorice cardstock (#44022); tuck the poppy stems beneath the polka dot layer. Cut a second poppy in black and layer only the petal portion.
- Add pale yellow suede trim and paper flower to finish!
Hope you are enjoying the new dies, papers and stamps too. Be sure to post your creations on our Flickr Gallery. We love to see what you're up to!
Find a Memory Box class near you and join in all the fun!
Happy Friday!
This card is a delightful use of different patterns - love it! Thank you so much!!
