Oh Christmas Tree!
Oh my, where do I begin with all of these amazing new dies, stamps, and papers. Well, the first thing that caught my eye was the new Flowering Christmas Tree die. I knew I wanted to use that on my card, so I designed my card around it. :) Let's look at what I did.
First, I cut the tree die out using white cardstock, and embossed it with Ranger silver embossing tinsel. I also traced around the edge of the die on the back of a piece of patterned paper from the new 6x6 Yuletide collection. You will see why I did that in a minute.
After tracing the die, I cut it out and inked the edges with fired brick distress ink. Then I adhered the embossed die cut to the cut out using Collage Pauge. I could have run the die through my Xyron machine but I had just finished working on some mixed media pieces, and it was easier to use the Collage Pauge. Just paint the Collage Pauge onto the solid, red tree and stick down the die. It dries clear so it worked perfectly.
I then inked up a portion of the new Vintage Christmas Words stamp {G1797} and stamped it twice onto another piece of paper from the same paper pack. I added a few stitches, dew drops, and Stickles, and here is how my card turned out:
Papers: Memory Box Yuletide and Wassail nc, Paper Trey Ink cs
Stamps: Memory Box Vintage Christmas Words G1797
Stamp Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink fired brick and embossing ink, Ranger silver embossing tinsel
Embellishments: Memory Box Flowering Christmas Tree die, Stickles Christmas red, Robin's Nest Dew Drops silver, sewing machine
This die, the new Yuletide paper pack, and this fun stamp work beautifully for this card. I hope you have enjoyed it and this week's Blog Blitz! Have a joyous Sunday!
Beautiful. These dies make it easier and easier to get elegant cards without all the intricate cutting. My fingers thank you.
