Great Stamps for a Layout!

Yeah, it's another day of the Memory Box Blog Blitz! I hope you are as excited as we are!  And these new stamps and papers in the What's in the Box 2011 release are all perfect for scrapbook pages! I couldn't wait to start scrapping with them. Here is an 8x8 page I created:
YourThoughtsA
Papers:  Memory Box Minuet, Paper Trey Ink cs
Memory Box Stamps:  Circle Word Background E1711 (on lace tags), Grass Print C1721 (on lace tags), Cocoa Bean Butterfly C1714, Vintage Record Sheet G1712 (for journaling)
Stamp Ink:  Tim Holtz Distress Ink walnut stain, Memento bamboo leaves
Embellishments: My Little Shoebox alpha stickers, Basic Grey chip alpha, Derwent watercolor pencils (3, 48, & 68), Creative Café felt flowers and buttons, Paper Trey Ink buttons and rustic twine, Martha Stewart lace tags, Scenic Route chipboard circle, Glossy Accents

I used 4 of the stamps in this release along with the new 6x6 Minuet papers. So yummy! Let's look at how I incorporated these 4 stamps onto my layout:

Circle Word Background E1711—I stamped this image onto both of my lace tags for a bit of a background on each tag.

Grass Print C1721—Next, I stamped this image several times on top of each lace tag to look like leaves extending from the felt flowers.

Cocoa Bean Butterfly C1714—Is this butterfly not beautiful? Wow! I stamped the butterfly onto Minuet paper, and then I colored the image in with watercolor pencils. After coloring, I cut out the butterfly and added Glossy Accents to the butterfly body and the tips of the wings. I then used Pop Dots and used the butterfly as an embellishment.

Vintage Record Sheet G1712—I stamped just the bottom third of this image onto cardstock and used it for a journaling spot.

What a lovely layout and great use of those new papers! I love that butterfly.

I appreciate all the work each of you puts into the blog...I was hunting today for a post Patter did on the peony collage awhile back...great techniques.

The butterfly really sets off the page and the use of the leaf stamps on the background behind the attached flowers is
such a neat idea - love it!

Really beautiful layout! I love it when you share your layouts, the combination of stamping and how you use embellishments and your layering is always inspiring! Thanks again.

LOVE this page! the colors are gorgeous! you had some awesome products to work with and you are very talented!

Thank you for sharing these great ideas for a layout. I'm just starting my first ever 8 x 8 album, so I appreciate seeing how to use stamping integrated into scrapbooking-in addition to seeing your layout. And, I've never heard of "the box" before either! It sounds like a wonderful, magical thing!

This page is just lovely and the creative embellishments are wonderful! I love lots of layers and you did a super job!

Although I personally don't do scrapbooking (more a card maker), always appreciate the work that goes into a page. Lovely. Connie

Stunning. Thanks for sharing about this on your blog Patter.

What a beautiful LO. I love all the details and appreciate the effort to tell exactly how you used your stamps on a LO. I seem stuck in a rut that they can only be used on cards.

I love Memory Box papers and also have some of the stamps, and I was introduced to Memory Box by Patter because I followed her other blog. This layout is perfect in color and design and I'll probably print it out for ideas someday down the road. Looking forward to seeing the new items the stores are going to find in THE BOX.

I love it! What a beautiful layout.
