Blog Blitz - New Papers, New Stamps Oh My...

Welcome to the blog blitz!

The design team is so excited to share with you this week the wonderful stamps and papers from the new release!

This week is another fun week of two posts per day and opportunities to win great prizes!

There will be different opportunities to win. All you have to do is check in a couple of times a day to see the new stamps and check if there are any fun games to play for prizes!

I am so excited to share with you the stamps I selected to highlight! My eyes lit up when I saw the new Crystal Snowflake!  The snowflake is gorgeous and I immediately thought of creating charms. I have two girls who love jewelry and I thought how fun to create some shrinky dink charms.

Of course I couldn't stop with just the charms I had to make earrings, a bracelet and a coordinating card to give to the recipient.

Here is a close up of the earrings so you can see the details on the charms!

Charm Recipe:

  1. Stamp E1410 Crystal Snowflake using StaZon Azure on Shrinky Dink.
  2. Cut out snowflakes. Punch centers with 1/2" circle punch to remove. Punch hole using hole punch to create hole for jump ring.
  3. Heat up following directions on Shrinky Dink.
  4. Accent with gems.
  5. Attach jump rings to snowflake charms.
  6. Attach snowflake charm to bottom of earring.
  7. String Pearls and crystals onto pin attach to earring.
  8. Attach charm to bracelet.

Card Recipe:

  1. Stamp Crystal Snowflake two times on white cardstock using StaZon Azure.
  2. Cut out snowflakes.
  3. Accent one snowflake using Memory Box Jewels.
  4. Glue Dot ribbon half way down card. Pull over to inside and attach to inside of card.
  5. Pop Dot unaccented snowflake and attach over ribbon.
  6. Pop Dot accented snowflake and attach to bottom snowflake.
  7. Glue dot charm snowflake to center of top snowflake.
  8. Stamp Peace, Love, Joy sentiment on bottom of card.

Now, onto the fun part... Did you know that Memory Box has a Flickr Group?  Flickr is a free photo sharing site where you can load up pictures and share with others.  The Memory Box group is a great forum to share your Memory Box projects and see what other people are creating with your favorite stamps.  We would love to see what you create using the Memory Box stamps, papers, and cards!  Come on over and share your photos of your Memory Box projects.  There is a link to the Flickr group at the top of the Outside the Box blog, so it is always easy to find.

We would like to have you come over and join the fun. We will be selecting a random winner from all of the members in the Memory Box Flickr group as of Sunday October 24, 2010 11:59 PM PST. All you need to do is create an account on Flickr and join the Memory Box group.  The prize package consists of Memory Box goodies worth $50.00!  Here is what you could win:Prizea
Once you join the Flickr group, you will have another chance to win a prize if you upload a photo of a Memory Box project to the group.  We will be picking a random winner from all the photos loaded this week into the Memory Box Flickr group.  In order to be considered, you must use at least one Memory Box stamp.  The more cards you upload, the better the chance you have of winning.  You could win a prize package of Memory Box goodies worth $50.00!  The time to post a photo of your project starts now Monday October 18, 2010 and goes until Sunday October 24, 2010 at 11:59 PM PST.  Here is what you could win:

I ADORE this idea and I love to do shrink art. I can't WAIT to try out this idea. -kk

Stunning projects Sue - what wonderful gift set!

So very elegant - thanks for explaining how this was done!

Such a great idea and project! It looks awesome!

I love the new Tinsel collection! The biggest problem is my local scrapbook store indicated she had a difficult time trying to contact Memory Box to inquire about carrying your papers! Please help. The local store is Whole Lotta Scrap, Norman, OK 73069, 405-310-3400. PLEASE, customers want your stuff!

I love Memory Box stamps and papers. They are great!

Love the snowflakes. Sometimes I forget you can stamp on non-paper!

Beautiful - makes me want to play with shrink plastic again

The card and jewelry are stunning! What a beautiful and versatile stamp to make lovely gifts with.

What a GREAT idea on the shrinky dinks! - sometimes my girls have friends over and they all make holiday gifts for their moms or grandmas or someone and these would be the perfect thing! Especially since the only thing I would need to buy would be the snowflake stamp and I can get one as soon as I see it! :) And they work for Christmas, Hanukkah, etc! Thanks!

Tried the link to the Flickr group and all I get is a blank page. HELP!

Beautiful card - TFS

The card using the crystal snowflake stamp is just breathtaking! It will be on my "must have" list for sure. Thanks for the great instructions.
