Halloween Printer's Tray
The 7 Gypsies Printer's Tray arrived in the mail a few days ago, and my first thought was "what am I gonna do with this??" I sat it on my desk among all the cool Halloween papers and stamps from Memory Box and... Bingo!! The idea came to mind immediately! What better way to showcase these items than in the printer's tray!!
The first thing I did was create a paper collage in all the little nooks and crannies of the tray. After deciding which paper went in which nook, I took them back out and placed them in my workspace. Next, I lined up my favorite Memory Box Halloween stamps and went to work. The first one I stamped was Night Cat - my absolute most favorite stamp!! The lower half of the image was stamped in the upper left hand corner using VersaMark and Stampendous black embossing powder. The upper half of the image was stamped in the middle box on the right side, also with VersaMark and black embossing powder. A section was masked off and the rest of the square was sponged with Memento London Fog, creating a section of light coming from the lamp. In the center of this "light beam" the crow was stamped with black Staz-on.
I have to admit, I have two Night Cat stamps - one that I stamp with and one that Dave signed and it's sole purpose in life is to sit on a shelf and make me smile.
In the square on the right you can see the orb spider that was stamped with orange pigment ink and embossed with clear embossing powder.
Happy Halloween was stamped directly on the box with Frost White pigment ink. These three sections were decorated with paper and decorative strips made using Martha Stewart's Halloween border punches.
Frost pigment ink was used to stamp the Orb spider. White scrapper's floss creates a web string in the upper box that the spider hangs from in the lower box.
If you look REAL close at lower left corner of the very first picture at the top of the page you'll spot those nifty jeweled spiders parading from one box to the other under red glittered drippy goo.
When Dave was teaching his classes at One Little Spark he asked if I planned out my projects or just let the ideas come to me as I work. This is how I normally work - I put what I want to work with on my work table, sit down and basically let it flow. Ninety-five percent of the time this works quite well for me. When the other 5% stalls me out, then I do have to put pencil to paper and come up with a sketch. I was lucky with this project - the ideas flowed quickly and easily! Hope you enjoy it!
The following stamps were used on this printer's Tray collage...
Night Cat (E1403), Trick or Treaters (C1129); Orb Spider (1131); Old Fence (1392); Happy Halloween Combo (B1391); Spooky Collage ( G1387); Halloween Collage (G1395); Crow (B1389); Bird in Flight(D1393)
This is AMAZING Pat! I cannot wait to get my trays (which have been ordered). You have really inspired me this morning.

That looks great! How much are those trays? Do you sell them there?

As I plan to do one of these boxes, am wondering what type of glue you used? I am planning on creating one as a gift with Memory Box papers and appropriate photos. Connie
